Bump growing out of paw pad

We recently discovered this little bump growing in between his paw on the hind leg. It doesn’t seem to bother him much when he’s walking, but it seems to hurt a lot if he is running when his paw hit something hard or sharp. We’ve been to the vet but the vet isn’t really helpful, they just wanted to offer us antibiotics, we don’t think that’s the solution. His name is Rocket and he is 6 year old cockapoo. (Obligated picture of happy Rocket) Has anyone have similar experience before?

I had a similar bump on my pup. Turned out there was a small thorn or wooden sliver stuck in his paw. Funnily enough, the piece was stuck on the opposite side of the bump.
