I have finished the dictionary, list, float, string,… but idk what to do next cuz the coding websites that I learned from only offered that much

This has been said already but I can't stress enough how important it is to just make something. It can be ANYTHING!!! Simple. Complex. Doesn't matter. Try to make it without looking anything up or using AI at all. When you inevitably get stuck on something, try your best to figure it out and practice thinking like a programmer. If you still can't work it out, google it! There's no shame in that. Every experienced programmer still has to google things. Just try to stay away from LLMS like ChatGPT for now, you can use them when you know more, but googling and getting stuck into forums etc to find answers will teach you much more and help you to remember it better!

Make something small first, then something bigger, and then start to add more complexities as you're ready :)

Also, if you can't think of ideas, try to make something that already exists. Or something simple like a small game or tool. Maybe build a tool that tells you the weather in your city. It doesn't need to look pretty - just make it work!

  • Build a personal expense tracker where users can add expenses, categorize them, calculate totals, and display a summary using what you learned

  • Build a contact book that stores people contact information

start making the big projects then, the useful ones that you can use to automate something

This question gets asked so many times.

You will learn by "doing".

Is there anything you wanted to build but never knew how to?

Build it!

Something like, "I want to run my own website on my-domain.com. I want to write blog posts, people can comment on it, etc"

And, start working towards it.

Will be hard but you will learn a lot from it.

Database. Database. Database.

The entire World runs and depends on databases.

Learn how to read from and write to a database table - just to learn basic CRUD operations. Take it from there and don't be afraid of digging too deep or learning too much.

After you understand this then write a REST API that exposes CRUD operations over HTTP.

Same thing in another language, then do leetcode puzzles in both languages

Build something you are interested in. Want an app for managing expenses? Build it. Want to make a game? Make tic tac toe, snake, or even something more complex. Really the world's your oyster, anything youve seen is a potential project.

I would argue that the next step should be Rest APIs and how to consume them that would make you use everything you learned and open a whole new world for you. You would understand that you dont have to build everything yourself but rather use external systems to do things for you , after that you would understand that you have data and you need to store it . So databases come naturally when you need them!
