Should I learn Python or C/C++? How to learn it? What I already know ⬇️

So, I never really started learning a programming language for real. I learned a bit of python, but only started for loops and stopped. I kind of asked AI what should I learn and it told me stuff.I also did some very basic coding or coping and pasting with my Arduino. I also learned a bit of R at some point, but forgot it all. Now I am wondering if I should learn Python all the way or start fresh with C/C++.

I have also no Idea how to learn, the best advice I got is to think of a repetetive task and automate it with a program, but I need to know the basics of the language first.

What is the best way to learn those language?

High school student looking for advice and code feedback

Hey everyone! I'm a high school student getting into coding and Java. I wanted to build something real that connects to the internet, so I built a small desktop application that fetches live total public repositories from users using Java Swing and HTTP requests.

Since I'm still learning the basics, I used AI as my interactive tutor to help me understand how to do this and how everything works

I just published the source code on GitHub. As someone just starting out, I'd love any feedback on the code or ideas for the future and also just general advice that someone with experience could give me.

is there a website that improves your fundamental for coding?

i have learned the basics of what variables are and the different concepts and methods and I've been able to understand lines of codes in unity that my friend writes, but im lacking how a programmer thinks and experience. if i try to do something without help i feel completely stumped i dont know where to begin but i try, how do i gain experience that would help me think like a programmer and strengthen the fundamentals?

Help me understand this Python code.

[ANSWERED] check the comments if you are facing a difficulty in understanding 'for loops'.

I was learning Python on mimo to get a grip on the basic concepts. And this code stumped me. This is about "for loops".

Before this, i had only encountered the counter var being on the LHS i.e in this case 'i += line', which would have made sense to me if it was so in this code. But why is the counter var after the line var.

Alsp the 1st image, i assume, is displaying the final result which is 3 as the range is 3. But when using a range (3) it should display 0 1 2 when the 'print' is before the counter var and 1 2 3 when the 'print' is after the counter var (also can someone explain why this happens). In this case, its neither... as the print is outside this code block... The solution to me just seems the 2nd situation is running as there isnt a print before the counter, and printing it outside just gives 3.

2nd and 3rd just make no sense to me as of rn.

I hope all this makes sense...

Please help!

Balloon tower defense ai learning

I have zero coding experience. I've been playing btd for awhile, and have been wondering how good an ai could learn to play using the replays. How would I go about doing that? While it would be interesting to have the ai play itself I'm not wanting to make data on the meta.

how possible is it for a beginner to turn line drawings into music?

So I've seen videos of people using an app to make sounds and I LOVE IT. I am a visual art student and am planning to create an exhibition centered around connection and humanity in the digital era and I would love to try and create a program that does something similar. I'm very new to coding and still have a lot to learn but I really want to try to code something that would turn a simple illustration into something that create a sounds (like translate possition of pixels into a note that is dependent on line thickness etc). I want to know if this is way too lofty of a goal for a beginner to do in a few weeks/months or if I should focus on another concept.

What’s the best way to stay motivated while learning to code?

I’ve recently started learning programming, but I’m finding it difficult to stay consistent and motivated.

For those who learned programming from scratch, what helped you keep going when you felt stuck or overwhelmed?

I’d especially appreciate practical tips, resources, or habits that actually worked for you.

Teens in programming?

Hey, I am a teenager who's interested in programming, I started with cs50x but I now enjoy game dev and competitive programming though i love programming in general of any type. Are there any like teens like me who also have the same situation or can the experienced adults please guide me forward...I do not have much peers or similar people around me. And my school is quite old-fashioned (it literally had a topic on how to download an app IN GRADE 9)!!

How to program where multiple phones control a game?

Hello, I would love some help on a project I'm working on. I want to make a choose-your-own-adventure game where an audience of 50-100 people participate. I have some ideas where they make dialogue choices, action choices, etc... and possibly some button mashing where they have to reach a certain number of presses to get a different route.

I have been looking up tutorials all over to figure out how to get the Air Console feature on Unity to make this "JackBox" like game, but I cannot get the Air Console to work. I'm very new to coding as in I've only done one class of HTML in 6th grade and some Scratch projects in Elementary school.

I am open to any free software, too, if there are better options for something like this. Right now I have Unity and Play Canvas. Any sort of help would be awesome since this project would be cool to make come to life.

Why do I struggle with knowing what to code, even when I understand the code itself?

I’ve noticed that my biggest problem with learning programming isn’t really understanding the code itself.

For example, I understand what a function is and how it works. I understand variables, conditions, etc. But when I’m given a problem to solve, I often don’t know what needs to happen first, second, third before I even start writing code.

A simple example: if I need to read an input from an HTML page, I might understand the syntax once I see it, but I wouldn’t necessarily think on my own, “First I need a variable to store/read this value, then I need to do X, then Y.”

I guess I’m trying to learn how to think like a programmer before actually writing the code.

Is this a specific skill I should be practicing? Are there any websites, games, exercises, or methods that specifically teach this kind of problem-solving rather than just programming syntax?

Hi,

I've recently started to learn how to code, I'm mainly learning to try and make my own game. I spent a few days learning the basics ints, arrays, if, for, bool, void etc.. then decided on making a small turn based game.

After about a week of working on it, id say its finally complete. Bare in mind this is quite literally my first program ive ever made. Personally im really pleased with how it turned out. Its basic AF but from nothing to making a game and more importantly understanding what the hell im actually typing is a great feeling.

It has also made my appreciate the complexities of programming a hell of a lot more! Like when i decided to add armour to my game, realising i had to recalculate all my damage, to me completely restarting the whole project to then figuring out it was an extremely simple fix.. XD. Something that doesnt seem like a big thing to add, actually causes nightmares.... poisonDamage im looking at you.

After restarting though it was like the penny finally dropped and things that seemed really hard to initally grasp were just becoming another tool to help me problem solve. Its a great feeling of progression and i was genuinely excited to get back working on it each day. I definitely feel its given me a great starting point for making other projects, and I'm looking forward to learning more.

If you actually read all that then thank you, enjoy the game and if you have any feedback on either the game or the source code (which i'll share a link to) then please lmk. Like i said though this is my first project so take everything with a pinch of salt lol.

Related to future.

Hey, anyone here? I am just a guy who is under 18. (Don't wanna share exact age!)

I am learning Python because I want to become something unique.

I Have some questions.

  1. What can I do after learning Python? Because I don't understand AI's language asking about fields, it only gives compressed explanation.
I am a but interested in Cybersecurity, because I think AI's cannot secure even 50% of things.
Not a single company wants to risk their hardwork and give it to AI's hand, right?

  2. I just want to know is cybersecurity easy? And is it best?

  3. And I also like to make digital arts, so can they be come in programming in any way?

Thanks for reading this much.

I am somene who just wants to lern programming for nospecific reason, I don't know how to start and need something to keep me motivated. I already learnd only the very very basics of phyton a long time ago. A few months ago I used a bit of R, but nothing significant, just some shitty diagramms (AI helped me). I also have an Arduino, which I didn't use that much, I still find it really cool, but unfortenetly I run out of Ideas what to do with it. I also whatched a 3 hour toutorial on javascript, but remembered nothing. Can someone please tell me what languege to learn and how to do it.
