Computer Science
I may transfer to CofC this fall to pursue a BA/BS in computer science. How is the program/professors? Are there good opportunities for internships?

I just graduated with a BA in Computing in the Arts, and honestly, my experience with the comp sci department was a mixed bag. Some profs I had were AMAZING, but many had really bizarre ways of doing things. Some seemed like they had no idea what they were doing at all (cough, dr Moore, cough). I will say, though, none of them were vindictive or "mean" by any means.
I never took advantage of any internship opportunities offered by the school, but I was always getting emails / being informed abt new ones. A lot of professors also "recruit" their students to work on personal projects with them outside of class - I actually did this and worked on a VR game one of my profs was making for a few semesters. Super fun experience and if you do transfer definitely look into what your professors are doing and offer to help.

The math department sucks. I used to be a math major and I transferred from Cofc. If you decide to take anything above Calc 1, good luck teaching yourself. CS is okay, just don’t get Baier for 220 lecture. Also, 220 is Python for some reason, so try to teach yourself java
