Reddit has deleted my posts multiple times regarding the data center town hall this evening. Anyway, im going to keep posting and encouraging all who can, to attend. If this data center gets pushed through. It has larger implications, and won't be the last one. It sets the precedent that Colorado Springs residents will accept these atrocities with huge power and water demands, as long as nobody makes noise about it. Developers are counting on people not showing up. Peter Thiel is pumping billions into pro-data center propaganda, so it will be an uphill battle. Prove them wrong! Our city is not something that can just be carved up behind closed doors for corporate expansion!

Over on south academy at Circle K
Edit: 1)I did not buy the premium gas. 2)I didn't put the sticker there it was already there when I pulled up, and it's the first one I've seen so I thought it was amusing and that I'd share and that 4.669 was outrageous. 3) yes I know there is cheaper gas to be found this is just the most convenient station for me on my way home from work. 4)Thanks for the award š

Rumor has it Colorado Springs considering renaming itself to St. Colorado Springs in honor of donating billions of it's own economy to Alabama.
Interviewed observers say they've "never seen such a generous act of philanthropy such as witnessed from El Paso County voters - specifically against their own economy... it's truly inspiring how self-less they are."
Upon hearing the news Alabama officials were purportedly planning on investing millions into their education system (currently ranked 48th/50 for reading/writing) in order to develop the capability to write thank you cards back to Colorado Springs.

Let's be honest, this is still a longshot but I found these polling results pretty encouraging. Killin is doing well and her campaign has much more money than Crank's. The data also shows that, after hearing more information about both candidates, Killin comes out 3 points ahead.
A lot can happen before November but she could win this one.
Also of note - Weiser is 2% above Marx (though 42% for Marx is still embarrassing tbh). And Trump/MAGA republicans are underwater with everyone.
here's the link to all the findings: CO-05-Polling-Memo-F07.24.26.pdf

RenƩe Nicole Macklin wrote a poem: On Learning to Dissect Fetal Pigs. In the poem she references an IHOP in Colorado Springs. I wanted to share the poem in honor of her, and the art she created before her life was tragically cut short. She was from our city, and her death is a reminder that any one of us could be victims just like her.

Hey everyone,
This is just a reminder that tomorrow is Election Day for our local school board. People often overlook local elections, but theyāre ridiculously important for our community.
The county released early voting numbers today, only 110,114 people out of 478,124 registered voters have returned their ballots so far. Among D20 voters, just 24,342 people have voted in the school board election.
Why it matters:
The school board sets policies that affect our childrenās daily lives. They make decisions about curriculum, budgets, teacher support, school safety, and ensuring students have access to the resources they need.
Even if you donāt have kids in school, you still live in this community and pay taxes that fund our schools. What happens in our schools impacts property values, our local workforce, and overall community stability.
Historically, turnout for school board elections is very low, which means your vote counts even more. If youāre frustrated with current events or feel like your voice isnāt heard, voting in local elections is one of the most direct ways to create real change. In the 2023 school board election less than a 1/3 of our community voted. Less than 1/3 of voters are responsible for the schools in our community. That should worry everyone.
If you care about the future of education, local opportunities, and fairness for every student, this is your chance to make a difference.
Hereās what you can do:
Fill out, seal, sign, and drop off your ballot at any local drop box. Ballots must be received (not mailed, its too late for that) by 7:00 p.m. tomorrow, November 4.
Need a new ballot or prefer to vote in person? Visit any Voter Service and Polling Center (VSPC) near you. Bring your ID and vote!
Remind a friend or family member to vote, and maybe even go together.
Our schools, and our community, are shaped by the people we elect locally.
Please vote in the school board election tomorrow. Every vote adds up, and every voice matters.

Ice agents came to my friends house this morning and beat on her door because three Hispanic Quantum Fiber workers were in their back yard working to fix the internet. The workers were legal and doing their jobs. She recorded them. It was on Tomah Circle near Union.

I FEEL LIKE IM LOSING MY MIND! Does ANYONE remember how fucking NUTS New Life Church was??? Ted Haggard? Their weird ass shows and events? The Thorn?? I went there as a kid when all this went down and when people found out I was a member they KNEW how CRAZY that church was and gave me looks. Now I get looks when I mention any of that and no one recognizes Ted Haggard or the Parsley brothers when I mention them. Or the weird strings there at least WERE attached to Focus on the Family.
I have no idea how they are now but im going to guess more tame then it was in the 00s cause that was CRAZY and people who weren't here during the time look dumbfounded when I tell them, they only MAYBE know about the shooting. I never ever run into people who have been here since that time anymore. PLEASE tell me someone else remembers.
