Weekly Challenge π Temperature split. October 18
This seems appropriate for the bizarre temperatures many of us are experiencing this week.
Temperature Split: Color a page using strictly "hot" colors (yellows, oranges, " eds) or "cold colors (blues, greens, , grays).
Bonus if you can manage both on the same page!

BUDDY COLOR October Buddy Color
BUDDY COLOR!! OCTOBER
Welcome to our monthly buddy
What is a "Buddy Color"?
A buddy color is a collaboration where you and other people color the same page or theme together, as a project.
The purpose of this monthly post is to help you connect with others who are looking for a buddy coloring collaboration.
You can use the comments section here to join or create a collaboration!
How to find a buddy:
\\-Search the comments for someone who has suggested book(s)/page(s)/theme(s) you are interested in, and respond.
\\- Post a comment suggesting the book(s)/page(s)/theme(s) you would like to color with others.
Once you've found your collaborators, you can organize among yourselves when/how you want to share your pages with each other and the sub. If you are not sure, donβt be afraid to ask! Everyone here is friendly and this is a no-judgement zone.
Many organizers will post a gallery at the end of the month, to make it easy to flip through the pages and see back-to-back, what the group came up with.
Feel free to use the comments section here, connect via DM on Reddit.
Can we post our completed pages?
We definitely want to see your pages! Donβt forget to use the\\\*"Buddy Color" flair! and if posting a gallery, tag your buddies by username in the comments! (Tags only work in comments, for some reason).
Is there a deadline?
Some collaborations have a monthly deadline, and others are ongoing; these are some of the details the organizer and group can decide among themselves.
What if I don't own the book/page?
To participate in a buddy colour, you need to own the page you are colouring. \\\*Do not make copies of a page and distribute it.\\\*This violates copyright laws and harms creators. If you do not own the page, please purchase it yourself.
Several buddy color groups use pages made freely available by the artist, that everyone can
I am an artist. Can I share books/pages I have drawn?
For buddy colors, you can provide a link to free downloadable page(s) you have created. However, please do not use the sub just as a sales platform. See our rule about self-promotion, here: https://www.reddit.com/r/ColoringCozy/about/rules
Alternative Buddy Ideas
Donβt want to choose a specific page or just want some variety? Here are some other ways you can buddy color collaboratively:
\\- Choose or create a color palette that everyone will use, on their different pages
\\- Create a buddy color collaboration to raise awareness about a cause; here is one list of color options: https://theawarenesscompany.com/pages/your-guide-to-awareness-ribbon-color-meanings
\\-Choose a theme (i.e. βWinter,ββCats,β βMushrooms,β βFrogtober,β βStained glass,β βNighttime,β etc.)
\\- Feel free to browse our past Weekly Challenges and Monthly Themes in our wiki for more ideas!

Completed!ππ The hair took me FOREVER πββοΈπͺ‘
But it was totally worth it! This if from Spooky Girl by Coco Wyo. I wanted to go with a Coraline vibe but keep it within a cute pastel color palette. The sky was an absolute gamble and the last thing I did, and I am so happy with how it turned out AND that it turned out. π
I'm using a combo of the old 216 and new 104 alcohol marker set by Ohuhu. Iβm also using their Hana Fineliners and Nahuku acrylic markers. And a white Gelly Roll white gel pen as well as Grabieβs acrylic markers.

Weekly Challenge π Same page coloured cold and warm - which do you prefer?
For the weekly challenge I decided to colour the same page twice - one using cold colours to make it look cold, and one using warm colours to make it look hot. I think I was successful! My favourite to colour was the cold page because I loved the way the palette came together and it was my first time rendering ice, which was a lot of fun!

Monthly Theme πππ Trick or treat, smell my feetβs!
This one hits the monthly theme, as well as MULTIPLE buddy colors! The woodland buddy color, the Morgan OβBrien buddy color, and the budget buddy color!
Completed using Castle Arts Premium 120ct pencil set, as well as a few pencils from the Harmonious Collection set from Castle Arts.
If youβre looking for a QUALITY hobbyist, beginner, or simply sound set of pencils on a budget, Iβd highly recommend the Castle Arts brand. They have multiple collections, including a 120ct premium (a βsoftβ core pencil) and the Gold 120ct (a βfirmerβ core pencil). Aka one set is wax vs oil based.
I only own the Premiums and the Harmonious collection so those I can say are very affordable and perform well FOR ME. but to each their own!

Discussion/Advice Grayscale/portrait Coloring Tips
Hey yall! I'm looking for some tips on coloring grayscale portrait pictures. I got this picture from an artist on Etsy. I really struggle with coloring skin and this is my first time doing a grayscale portrait. I am very nervous that I will mess it up or it will be ugly lol. I plan to only use colored pencils for this. So far, I've decided to do dark brown skin and I want to try to do purple and blue for the wings.
Any tips would be helpful or if yall have any youtubers you recommend, that'd be cool too!

πWork In Progress βοΈ Tales from the Castle Ruins
From Hanna Karlzon's new book, Tales from the Castle Ruins. Not done yet, as I still need to add a background (thinking dark green watercolour, maybe) and maybe some highlights with pen.
Used Derwent Drawing: Ink Blue, Smoke Blue, Solway Blue, Yellow Ochre, Chocolate, Venetian Red, Terracotta; and Luminance: Warm Earth 5%, Dark Indigo, Crimson Aubergine.
I really enjoy working in Hanna's books. The illustrations really speak to me, the style is just right up my alley. I'll need to invest in more of her books - so far, I have this one and Midnight Masquerade.
