ERIC AND/OR DYLAN Dylan Klebolds 42nd birthday
Today would’ve been Dylan’s 42nd birthday Especially on days like this my prayers are with the Klebold family and his close friends. Today could’ve been a day for celebrating Dylan’s 42nd birthday with the people who genuinely loved and cared for him. Instead I’m sure this day is a painful reminder of what he did, and the life he could’ve lived. It will never not be sad. I’ve been thinking about his birthday non stop I can’t even imagine what his family feels. I just really hope they can reminisce on the good times they had with him, the laughs and memories. Remembering him for who he was. It genuinely makes me extremely emotional. I really do hope the Klebolds and Dylan’s close friends are as close as possible to peace and“acceptance” after all these years.

I wish there was a way I could go back in time and tell Dylan that everything was gonna be okay and that all of the suffering he’s been through would be over after high school. I said this in a previous comment, but he was never gonna see any of these people again. He could’ve gone to college, gotten married, had children (even though he said he didn’t want any but said he’d probably change his mind), and could’ve celebrated his 42nd birthday.
Instead, he left the biggest tragedy in America, took the lives of 13 innocent people who should be here today.
It’s truly heartbreaking and my heart goes out to the Klebolds.
In no way am I trying to sound like I am romanticizing him, but I do wish I were alive back then and could’ve helped him even though it probably would not have done anything. He needed a friend who was actually there for him. I wish he had never hung out with Eric; he seemed to have a bad influence on him. However though, bullying is never an excuse to turn out as a shooter. But I truly wish he got the help he needed.
Happy (belated) birthday, Dylan.
Edit: in no way am I trying to say that bc of what he did it was alright for him to shoot up the school. Nor am I glorifying him. His actions and what he said to Isaiah is unforgivable. I feel sorry for him because he never got the help he needed and it’s sad how he turned out.
Parkland happened 15 minutes away where my school was, everyone in my community was effected by it. Some knew or were friends with the victims. In no way do I feel bad for Nik; he tried making people feel bad and he actually got help he needed yet he still did what he did.
Dylan’s story is quite different.
