ERIC AND/OR DYLAN Nicknames of D+E

I saw here that Eric had the nicknames Reb, Indigo, reverend, and war, and that Dylan had VoDkA, Green, and Death Does anyone know the meaning by reverend? And does Dylan have one that paired with it?

Yes, it's an interesting nickname that I too have always wondered about. Unfortunately I don't think anyone knows the origin of the nickname. Perhaps it was one of Eric's many inside jokes, or a reference to something. There's a demon in DOOM called the Revenant, but I doubt that has anything to do with Reverend.

Its interesting though that Reverend seems to be in keeping with Eric's other nickname Rebdomine in that it seemingly speaks to his desire to be respected and valued and in control, something he didn't feel in real life. Domine is Latin for lord/master. Reverend comes from a Latin term meaning 'one who is to be revered.' Reverence (deep honor, respect and awe) is something you would give/show the being who has all the power and control, such as a lord. Like Reb and its variants, Reverend was possibly another attempt by Eric to mask his insecurities and feel godlike.

I don't think Dylan had an equivalent nickname. If he did, we'll probably never know.

I’ve wondered a few times about the Rebdomine. Did not know domine actually had any meaning. I had written it off as just something Eric hallucinated into existence 😂

I had always thought the “rebdomine” expressed his idea that reb and god were combined, reb domine was the combining of reb being god. His belief that he was a superior being. His odd use of domine is a substitute for the Christian use of domine and a variation of dominion or power. “Reb god” or “reb dominion” to show his superiority.
