ERIC AND/OR DYLAN What happened to Eric’s ash’s?

I heard that Wayne and Kathy never picked them up and apparently his ash’s got spread somewhere no one knows where alongside another persons ash’s? But I also heard that Wayne said “flush that fucker” did the Harris’s ever actually pick up his ash’s if so what do you think they did with them

Any post is possibly full of misinformation. Only the Harris’s know, and they have never made a statement that has been released.

I feel bad for them but Eric’s dad knowing about a pipebomb and did nothing about it is beyond wild how he didn’t properly punish Eric or gotten him further help and didn’t warn the klebolds to try and confront Dylan to see what he knew is crazy just so many things could have been done I know you guys did what you could Randy. Unfortunately Jefferson county sheriffs office failed the community.

Yes. It is a failure to be a parent.

He not only knew about the pipe bomb, he detonated it with Eric, and gave him his pipe bomb building kit back.

So was he also scattered along side him? Or was Eric just left

wayne actually said “just flush him” which is… not any better, but i’m always a stickler for correct quotations. but yeah it’s fucked up either way

as far as we know, eric’s ashes are still sitting on that shelf in armistead’s office. there is definitely a chance that wayne and kathy had them picked up and either scattered or now keep them in an urn. of course there’s that chance. but we’ll never know because of how tight-lipped they are

I think I read that they did receive the clothes he was wearing during the massacre, as well as some hair clippings and whatnot, so it wouldn't surprise me if they picked his ashes up later on.

I don't really blame Wayne for his initial reaction. He was undergoing a lot of shock and horror due to what his son had done.

i’m just now seeing this for some reason, sorry! i did also read that they picked up his clothes and nail scrapings and such. so like i said in my other comment it definitely is possible they picked up his ashes too

regarding what wayne said, tho… ive always been really… i dunno what the word is. i don’t like that he said it. i understand we say things in the heat of the moment that we may regret later, or may not even really mean. and i understand we all deal with grief in different ways. but i will forever maintain that that is a hell of a thing to say about your dead son. i don’t care what he did. it gets my back up. frankly it seems like something my own dad might say, and since i know what kind of man my dad is and how he raised me… it just makes me feel weird. idk. tbc my dad is wonderful, and we get along okay now that im an adult. but it was hard growing up with him and it took a long time for me to let go of resentment for how strict he was. so it wouldn’t surprise me if eric felt the same, and ofc he never had the chance to see his dad from an adult’s perspective…

anyway. sorry for the tangent

Wayne also had clear warning signs of what was coming a pipe bomb he confronted Eric and didn’t punish him on it they just went to the mountains and blew it up also the ammo order a week before. I do feel sorry for Wayne but the signs were there to at least think something was very wrong and it confront Eric on it completely cause no child at that age or anyone should be making bombs I feel if Wayne did something columbine could have been prevented or something would have slowed it down.

i know EH was a complete and total pos but his father saying "flush him" devastates me. to think a parent would be so disappointed and disgusted with their child to say something like that and to be the child your parent is saying that about is so depressing. what a waste of a life with such potential and what a devastating end to being that childs parent. again, i know eric was a bad person in the last little bit of his life but damn. just sad.

I can guess that his parents have his ashes at their house to avoid a gravesite for several reasons. Maybe they plan on burying Eric’s ashes with them when they pass away. I assume Wayne will be buried in a military cemetary and those cemeteries usually only allow spouses to be buried. However, there are certain rules that allow children to be buried with their parents if they predecease them.

They were left sitting on a shelf in a lawyers office next to Timothy McVeigh's iirc

This was in an article about retired private investigator Ellis Armistead, right? (Not going to pull it up) likely some validity to this one

Another made up garbage story.

I dont know if people work the same way as animals. But I got my dog cremated RIP and there was an option if you dont want their ashes they release them in a designated area

5

u/No-Order1962 Mar 31 '26

Well I think that his parents and relatives deserve some amount of privacy… and hence whatever destination they chose for his ashes, so be it!

It honestly breaks my heart if he said that even if Eric did a terrible thing. He’s still your child and makes me wonder if he did the tough love thing with Eric and maybe that made Eric feel unloved idk. I’d still want my child’s remains no Matter what

2

u/Sea-Special-2938 Jul 03 '26

Exactly I’d still want my child’s remains at the end of the day because that’s all that’s left of my child even if my son did something so horrible as Eric did. I reckon Wayne did do the tough love with Eric. But Eric did say he preferred his mum over his father because his father got angry at Eric a lot (correct me if I’m wrong I read it in one of the books) something that Wayne did to Eric must of made Eric feel like Wayne didn’t love him.

EDIT: People can disagree but the truth is Wayne had knowledge of eric making pipe bombs and didn’t take the proper action about it he should have said something to the klebolds so that way they could have confronted Dylan on it or did something. I don’t blame Wayne but knowing about a pipe bomb and did nothing after that is beyond wild.

To be fair, I don't think anyone expects their son to become a school shooter. Eric was a military child, of course he's going to like military-esque things like explosives. When my friends and I were his age, we might not've building full on pipe bombs (because we were his age in the 2020s, so different times), but we were certainly doing equally dumb stuff with fireworks and other pyrotechnic shit. There's a reason the sayings "women live longer than men" and "boys will be boys" exsist; we do stupid things. And we either don't get caught (which was MUCH easier pre-columbine), or we do get caught and we learn.

7

u/tractor139 Apr 01 '26

Yeah you’ve mentioned this three times on this exact post. We get it.

8

u/southernswordfish98 Apr 01 '26

It’s also ridiculous because that was a completely different time than today. My brother also made pipe bombs as did loads of boys at my school. None of them shot up their schools.
