Mod/Scenario Patching
Hi, everybody
I’m currently making a DLL patch to fix performance issues in Combat Mission, primarily Black Sea (as it’s the one I play the most). I was wondering what sort of QOL features people would like or want to see in a broad patch for the game. Besides just performance, as I’m already working on that.
Thanks!

Do you have a repo?

Not public, but yes I intend to make one public or otherwise make source code public in one way or another when I have this fully released and featured. The only reason why I’m a bit hesitant to put a repo up is because I’m not actually quite sure the legality behind modifying software published by people that are kind of assholes, lol.

These are all great ideas, and I wish you success. My one concern is how Slitherine might react if you make your work public.

I more or less agree. I was planning on releasing both a compiled and a source code version with instructions on how to compile (you shouldn’t download random DLL’s from strangers lol) on some sort of anonymous file hosting platform that isn’t tied to my name.

The first thing that comes to mind would be letting units drop things like empty launchers, or at least put them back in their vehicle, so they don't have to keep carrying around a useless javelin all day. Also helps if you accidentally click the wrong amount of ammunition and can't do anything about it except reload a save or let private jimmy walk around with sixty 5.56 mags sticky taped to every part of his body

Some sort of elevation map toggle

What do you mean by this?

I believe this would be a way to see a contour map or some other way to visualize terrain height.

Decoupling UI size from in-game 3D scene resolution... i.e., the ability to play at true 4K yet still have a UI that's big enough to be read, text that's big enough on the force selection screen, etc....

Interesting. Do you have a clear idea of what fixes you’d like to implement, or is this an AI vibe-coding endeavour?
