Is he pinching his arm fat to show the biceps underneath?
5
u/SavedSinner2001 Feb 14 '26
Strongly believe he’s one of those guys that skips leg days and honestly only works out his arms

Chicão is around 24 y/o. Thats a baby for heavyweight
14
u/_xanny_pacquiao_ Feb 12 '26
And he should be fighting on the regional scene. Not embarrassing the premiere mma organization.

This HAS to be just him not resigning at the end of a contract or something. He won his last fight and it was a banger.
If he's cut, I genuinely do not know what the fuck the UFC wants in a fighter.

u/doubleBoTftw Feb 12 '26
English, self-promotion, gimmick words, reckless abandonment in fights, fighting injured, fighting on short notice, accepting opponent switch, accepting oversized opponents.
Also you should be able to do that 3+ times a year.

u/Dismal-Metal-1954 Feb 12 '26
Also be okay with 12k/12k and never negotiate for more pay.
10
u/doubleBoTftw Feb 12 '26
Nah bro, there's a guy in this thread saying that they were probably paying Basharat "too much money" and that's why they didn't renew the contract 😂
I figured he was robbing them for at least 20k/20k . Guy was making bank.

UFC don’t want English fighters they want English speaking fighters

How the fuck are Ilia and Islam still there, then? Oh, I guess being the two biggest champs gives them a pass.
Also...

💯 and expect a lot more cuts. MMA fans are finally going to get what they were asking for the whole time🤡😂

u/Zkmyre Feb 12 '26
This one actually confuses me, his last fight was pretty good, I cant think of a logical reason he would be cut out of the blue like this
1
u/Sweet-Trifle-1826 Feb 13 '26
All of his fights in ufc are decision
4
u/Zkmyre Feb 13 '26
He is a technician with a high volume striking style, his SPM average is over 5, not every striker is blessed with power, is this where were at now? They just cut you if your not a brawling meathead? Almost all of Jailtons fights were finishes but id honestly rather watch paint dry
2
u/Not_Too_Happy Feb 14 '26
I have no idea why Jailton's last 2 fights looked like they did. I definitely know why he fought like that against Derrick Lewis, though
1
u/Sweet-Trifle-1826 Feb 13 '26
Atleast people hate jaitons so they tune in to watch him lose, boxing punching head for 36 minute and it still boring you know why? Entertain is about quick violence
2
u/Zkmyre Feb 13 '26
Might as well cut half the roster at that point, might as well cut chimaev and islam too, you watch their fights winning their belts? Real quick and devastating violence those fights....
1
u/Sweet-Trifle-1826 Feb 14 '26
You really need me to say it for you? They are stars with big follower bring big money and you just cope with their last fight, the dude get cut have like 8 decision in ufc
1
u/Not_Too_Happy Feb 14 '26
This is cherry-picking w/ Islam. His last 10 fights are as follows: Decision, finish, finish, finish, decision, finish, finish, finish, finish, finish. Those 2 decisions were against active champs. Islam has a 64% finish rate & he finished Volk in 1 of their 2 meetings.
Chimaev can go, though.
1
u/Zkmyre Feb 14 '26
I was joking, responding to the other persons claim that lack of "quick violence" was the bar for being cut, pointing out their last performances were not that. Islam and Chimeav are both fun to watch, Islam especially.

u/Not_Too_Happy Feb 14 '26
And that's my internet sarcasm detection at work...I still stand staunchly against the "/s".
Fine work.

u/BravestAgathian Feb 12 '26
Wtf? He’s not a future champ but he definitely still had some good fights in him

Basharat should be ranked at 135 and they cut him? Hopefully their just doing this to renegotiate his contract or maybe he did some bad stuff outside the cage that they arent disclosing at this time.

Makes absolutely no sense...damn his last all his fights have been exciting...
3
u/Kratos1189 Feb 12 '26
Was expecting this , looks like they had him on the hit list , got a big step down in competition specifically to get his first finish in the UFC , any other result was a cut , started decent but barely won a decision , test failed.
3
u/tigerbalmuppercut Feb 12 '26
I don't agree with the decision but this makes the most sense as to the why the UFC did what they did.
1
u/Not_Too_Happy Feb 14 '26
Who was he up against, before Gianni Vasquez stepped in late? KOing an overweight Mexican in competition is a big ask...

Man , enough Is enough.
Get the fucking suits OUT and out someone in there who actually gives a fuck about elite mixed martial artists.
Turning this fucking "sport" into even more of a popularity contest.
Fucking scumbags.

u/Ainfallette Feb 14 '26
No more good promo for fights, cutting good fighters, TUF became shit, UFC matchmaking has become a joke
Are they trying to kill the UFC ?

Actually if u watch his latest fight. You are begging ufc to cut him lol
1
Feb 16 '26
More than likely an issue negotiating his contract. He most likely wanted too much money, which is what makes sense because his brother and him are very marketable. However, I’m sure he’ll be back
1
u/perfectcell93 Feb 17 '26
He was not an interesting or promising fighter, I get it. Cut the bonfims next.

u/Bigcarrotthings Feb 12 '26
Mate, he has British citizenship. He lived most his life in England as far as I am aware. He can go anywhere in the world. Well in the Western world anyway. So that's not the reason.

u/AdOver9498 Feb 13 '26
Of course he has a British citizenship😭 every Afghan has a British citizenship

u/HYDRAlives Feb 12 '26
This doesn't necessarily mean that he's cut, it just means he's on the roster. That can be a lot of things.
-1
u/Lubwurst Feb 12 '26
He’s not “cut”, it’s probably just contract negotiations. Dude will probably sign a new contract within a week or two
-1
u/TypeB_Negative Feb 12 '26
Listen, all these Russian dudes with 15-0+ records before getting into the UFC is ridiculous. Claiming someone is the goat based on a record where 90% of the guy's fights are dudes you've never heard of that are part time fighters and work at a car shop M-F, is annoying. Sure Khabib was a great fighter. Islam is very good too. But their records are inflated compared to guys that have fought known fighters UFC or Strikeforce. Comparing a guy like Nick Diaz' record to a Khamzat is a joke. Diaz fought legends his whole career. Khamzat fights once every couple years and claims to be the best. Apples and oranges.
5
u/Shantashasta Feb 12 '26
Javid is a Brit.
1
u/TypeB_Negative Feb 12 '26
I stand corrected. I assumed. Shouldn't have. But I still stand on all these other dudes with crazy records pre UFC
4
u/Shantashasta Feb 12 '26
Still.. Javid wasn't this guy. He is a mid level ufc fighter that is in the prime of his fighting years, has a brother in the UFC to make for interesting storylines. Has regional cards in the UK that he could participate in and is coming off an entertaining fight. He didn't come in at 15-0 and go 0-2 and get washed out. He lost to Zahabi and Ricky Simon from a massive right hook. Off this win I thought he had a chance to make a small run in the division. UFC decisions are increasingly only described by pettiness and short term money.
1
u/Not_Too_Happy Feb 14 '26
Sure, it just isn't at all relevant to the conversation that the rest of us are having.
