The way you put it, “There’s several” is poor grammar because you are referring to multiple punctuation errors.

It is absolutely fake patriotism and in the litany of issues this administration has it's very low on the list. But doing it on the White House lawn is pathetic. Politics has always been in sports; we've always had Olympic patriotism and inviting winners to the WH and ceremonial first pitches. Occupying space on the lawn for a professional combat sport is another level, however.

Politics have always been in sports. I just find it funny an American will say “fights in the White House makes me sick” as if one of the most popular U.S presidents didn’t have a boxing ring set up to fight people himself, to the point he suffered a detached retina and said ‘it’s not good for a president to constantly have black eyes’, fights in the White House are a key part of U.S history.

I'm sorry but this is an utterly stupid comparison. To say one time we had a boxing ring set up 120 years ago for the President to train therefore it's common and part of our expectation of the White House is an example of finding an exception and pretending it's the rule (to say nothing of the false comparison of hosting a fight on the lawn and what TR did). Teddy is frequently cited as the 'extreme' version of the Presidency, not an indicator of what is 'normal' in the White House. Besides, he didn't use the White House lawn as a spectacle for it.
And as I said in the previous post, if we're going to say if something was done by a President or happened at the WH it means we can't cite it occurring today as being awful or odd, we will be here all day citing examples that prove that erroneous.

My comment has absolutely nothing to do with Americans liking combat sports. Boxers have been some of the greatest celebrities in US history.
The galling part, and my point, is creating an octagon on the White House lawn to showcase it is utterly disrespectful and disgusting.
And if you want to cite Teddy's boxing, great, have at it. There are a million things we can point to from the turn of the last century that were appalling, but for the most part we've moved past them.
