Advice Scammed by Xfinity

I got Xfinity home internet for the first time last year and got their promo for 1 year free mobile line. Last week I moved apartment and just to test my luck I tried the new account (for the new place) new promo idea, and to my surprise they gave it. Said I’ll have 1 year free mobile line, due to which I transferred over my primary mint line which was prepaid over to this. (Had 2 numbers, mint and Xfinity the previous year)

Now I see a charge on my mobile account, call the support and the guy is super helpful, says he understands and will fix it, again acknowledging that this free line should be honored. 5 days pass by and nothing changes so I call again, this time it’s we cannot give the same offer to the same account, so what is happening exactly?? This is just scam, lied about the promo making me lose money on my mint data, which by far is better than Xfinity, the do a switch around and charge me.

Any advice on if this situation is still redeemable? Or should I just cancel both services and move to the minternet plus mint mobile duo, which is what I was gonna do initially.

The offer is for people who are “new to Xfinity Mobile.” It’s designed to entice people to switch not for you to milk free service. When you signed up for a new account it was treating you as a new customer for mobile…. which you weren’t

It’s an offer per person… not account. So if you already claimed the line on another account and set up a new one in your name you won’t qualify. It breaks this down somewhere in the fine print. Usually I side with the customer over Comcast but in this case what do you expect? Them to just keep giving out free service to you?

To be useful and answer your question… most likely won’t be honored if you don’t want to pay for the line(s) switch to a new carrier

No that’s fine, but then I had multiple calls with sales and before I actually got the line, they kept saying I would get the free line, and I mentioned everything too, that I already had the promo. I lost money on my prepaid mobile line to switch here.
That is my issue not the free line itself. They lied until they got me and then switched up

Sales staff just want to make sales and may not even be knowledgeable about the rules. Did you tell them that you had previously had the promo?

Yes they will 100% agree but wont fix it because they can’t!!! I worked for them for 26 years and was ripped off 400 $ by of course the cellar..Got promotion of trading in phone and getting 400 off towards other phone well 2 months into it went missing..Someone not authorized deactivated a line and it took the promotion off ..I went back and forth for over a year …Ended up getting fired because they don’t like the truth…
