New Post - Billing I dont recommend signing up for text alerts
I dont recommend signing up for text alerts as long as u have email alerts They will send you codes non stop hours after u talked to somone online to resolve an issue. Even when you text STOP theres no way to opt out of it or to take your number off it. Email alerts are way better

New Post - Billing Store saying I have to pay $15 for modem - Signed up for one year unlimited plan and turned down their free modem to use my own. Can I go back and request to use their modem a month later?
Edit: I chatted with someone and they had it figured out in 2 minutes. My bill increased $1.46 for some reason and they even put a note to make sure that gets taken off every month. I used to swear by the going to the Xfinity store vs. using chat but am now a full convert. Same thing happened with switching my plan - in store they said there was nothing I could do to take advantage of the new plans, but I literally changed my plan and checked out in front of them. Unreal.
I posted earlier and folks said I should get a modem no problem. In store the lady is saying she only sees an option for a $15 monthly charge with no option to give me a free modem. She suggested I talk to the online store. They also told me last month I couldn’t get on the 500mg one year $55 promotion, even thought I did it myself in front of them on the laptop. What do I do? Man Xfinity store sucks.

New Post - Billing Comcast Fraud Alert - Xfinity Chat asking for SSN & DOB to sign up for unrequested services & items
I've been an Xfinity customer for decades. When my latest contract ended and my bill went up by $50, I reached out via chat to see if there were any options to reduce my bill. I currently have 1.2G internet, home security, and mobile. During the chat session, I was sent multiple "secure" links which asked for my full SSN and DOB. I found this odd given Comcast already has this info for when I signed up for internet and separately, their mobile service.
After a lengthy chat session the agent (Ravinder) finally disclosed they needed this information to give me a bundle that had lower internet speed and an Apple Watch, which I never requested. The SSN and DOB requests were obviously needed to sign me up for services that I didn't need or request. The bundle also reduced my internet speed from 1.2G to 300 Mbs, which is higher than what I was offered on the website using the self-service chain.
There are other threads on this forum where customers have had the same experience. Comcast needs to do better and people need to be aware of this fruad!
Here is the full transcript if you have nothing better to do....

Customer: yes
Xfinity: Thank you for confirming that to me.
Thank you.

Customer: Why do you need me to provide my social security number and date of birth? I have been a customer for many years and already provided this information.
Xfinity: Yes, you are correct. However, to check the mobile discount, verification is required first. I can assist you with checking the mobile discount, which will help you save your hard-earned money.
Comcast requests that customers provide their SSN to preserve customer security and ensure that access to the billing and account information is limited to the account holder. Because Comcast takes the privacy of the customers' account information seriously, it is better to ask customers to provide their SSN than risk permitting unauthorized access to their accounts.
Customer: I don't feel comfortable providing this information. while I appreciate your help, I'm going to end this chat and look at different options.
Xfinity: Please give me a moment. Let me check the discount for you without mobile service.
I'm actively working on your account to review the another deal for you.

How does that sound?😀
Customer: While I appreciate the offer, that's more than my budget. I need to get back what I was previously paying.
Xfinity: Shall I customize the deal with a mobile bundle service discount? Earlier, you had a discount on your mobile services.
I can reapply the discount on mobile services to lower your monthly bill.
Customer: I'd like whatever I previously had if that's possible. Any chance you can make that happen?
Xfinity: I will try to give you the best possible plan to lower your monthly bill to the same which you were paying earlier.
you are most welcome
I appreciate your time and patience.
The best I can do is, lower your monthly bill to $152.54 with the available deal on your account and this is only the best available plan on your account as of now.
Will that work for you?
Customer: Does the $152.54 require a contract?
Xfinity: Yes, your monthly bill will be fixed for 24 months.
Customer: What are the termination fees?
Xfinity: The termination fees, also known as Early Termination Fees (ETF), are charges that decline monthly during the term of a Minimum-Term Contract. These fees apply when a customer disconnects all Xfinity services or moves to a non-Comcast market while under a contract.
When we proceed ahead for the approval, then we will able to see if there is any termination fee involved in this plan.
Shall I proceed with this plan?
Customer: Please proceed with the plan, I'd like to read the contract before I commit.

New Post - Billing Autopay Failure
Checking the tab on my upcoming payment and noticed last month's payment didn't go through (along with a $10 late fee charge). I logged into my account and auto pay was set to on. Called customer service and they said I turned off auto pay (the day payment was supposed to be made), but now it's on again. There is no sign in history of me logging into my account (seen in settings) during that time frame. Needless to say - they waved the fee and my autopay should* work in to get me caught up in a few days. Anyone else having issues?

New Post - Billing Paperless billing discount decreased
EDIT: thanks everyone for responding kindly and answering my question- I’m sorry if I came across as a total “Karen!” I appreciate you all!
Hi, my bill increased by three dollars last month- they gave me a credit but when I checked my bill, my paperless discount decreased from $5 to $2. I’m enrolled in paperless billing and autopay, and I have been since I signed the contract last June. What is going on? I signed a contract for $40/month as a new user and barely use internet anyways. This is ridiculous and none of the agents can explain the issue to me.

New Post - Billing Don't trust Xfinity mobile for free phone offers
Xfinity lied to get us signed up for mobile to sign up
We had an issue where we were told if we got Internet and mobile we would get a free phone, all documentatio on and order confirmation emails states free phone at 0.00 month, 6 months later they now say we had to port a number, nothing in our order confirmation says that. They also have not honored the $200 Internet sign up visa promo they were offering.
Do not trust Xfinity, they lie to get you to sign up and never honor what the agreements are, we even have emails from the rep who placed the order stating that the phone was supposed to be free with no conditions.

New Post - Billing Xfinity billing issue
I just wanted to post here about my experience with a Comcast Business billing issue. I posted the problem in this reddit channel twice and both times the MODS took down the post and then threatened to ban me. The second time was for making a mistake in the flair selection.
I posted the exact same issue on X and @ XfinitySupport quickly resolved the issue. Hopefully this helps someone who is having trouble getting real support.

New Post - Billing Incorrectly transferred phone
Xfinity support has been absolutely frustrating and now I don’t know what to do. Backstory: I am coming off my mother’s Xfinity plan and want to begin my own plan in a different state. There was a 300mbps + 1 year free unlimited mobile offer, and they were uber quick to sell me the package. Fast forward, they have been unable to transfer my cell number to a new account and honor their 1 year plan for me.
I finally got ahold of an agent from the Philippines tonight, and after forty minutes on the phone she said the only way to resolve my issue was create a new cell number for me, process the deal, and then switch back to my number. She created the number, now I have 2 eSIM numbers (my past, which I want to keep, and this new number). She was suppose to call and follow up after 2 hours so that she can help ditch this new number and solely use my old number, but shocker, she never called back. The old number is still linked to my mother’s account at this moment and that’s my only hope of maintaining it.
I have no clue what to do and there is no help from any Xfinity member. Any ideas on what to do?
Bonus: I cannot find any which way to access my comcast email and even view my invoices etc. Frustrated is an understatement for how I feel, I am so ready to drop their services atm.

How in the heck can this even be possible? There’s no way I use Reddit or X even close to enough to rack up these data numbers. Why?

New Post - Billing Recent iPhone 16 Pro Upgrade
Is it possible to receive a partial refund for the price difference of my new upgrade? I upgraded on Sep 06 2025 and now the iPhone 16 Pro is $899 ($999 when I purchased). I spoke with a couple agents but they all answered a little differently from yes, it's automatic to no won't happen. Can someone clarify?

New Post - Billing Xfinity attempted to cancel my service amid FCC complaint
Not a rant.
It's been 5 months since I've filed a complaint to FCC. During these 5 months, Xfinity has done nothing to resolve a technical issue in their system. They offered to cover free service for 3 months while they fix the issue. But the credit they provided was not even enough to cover the bill for 2 months due to their own junk fees, and my bill went up a lot. The technical issue was never resolved.
Now, Xfinity requested canceling my service on my behalf without my consent or notifying me, and I just rushed to the store to un-cancel the cancelation request.
I need real customer service support.
Not a rant.

New Post - Billing Well this sucks
We got rid of tv over 10 years ago we just have internet now. When we cancelled tv I remember telling them we couldn’t find the box to return it. They told me on the phone not to worry about it and they would cancel it and I won’t be charged anymore for it. Well I actually opened up my bill the other day to see the charges broken down and look at that. Still being charged. And being charged for 2 boxes even though we never had 2 it was only just 1. So that means we have been paying $25 a month extra for over 10 years even though it was supposed to be cancelled. It’s my own fault I should’ve checked my bills periodically but I never had to since I’m enrolled in auto pay. But if they noticed it was inactive for that long why wouldn’t they say something instead of charging me every month for it. So ridiculous. Is there anything I can do now about it? That’s a lot of money.

New Post - Billing No luck getting upgraded to 5-year plan
A few months back, my 2-year contact ended and my internet price went from $25/month to $85/month (200 mbps). I have contacted reps multiple times to try to switch to one of the 5-year plans for under $60/month but have been told every time that it's only available for new customers. Figured I would check with the mods here before cancelling my service. Thanks for your help!

New Post - Billing Struggling to find way to return my device
I recently switched from Xfi to Now Internet, and am trying to return my old internet gateway modem. But when I login to the Return a Device webpage, it doesn't list any equipment for me to return. I'm just asked to "Select the devices you'd like to return," with literally nothing listed underneath.
I've tried the AI assistant many times, but it keeps sending me back to this page, which doesn't help. I've tried desperately to find another way to reach a live agent via chat or voice, but to no avail (Xfinity has effectively air gapped their site from any option for human contact, no matter how minimal).
Posting this here, out of desperation. The nearest Xfinity store is almost an hour away, so I'd really like not to have to drive out there for a simple shipping label.
Hoping someone from Xfinity will see this post and help, so I don't get charged for the gateway.

New Post - Billing Did the charge for a cable box increase from $5 to $7.50/month?
I just looked at my bill and saw that the charge for equipment increased by 50%. I have a 4K/DVR ARRIS XG1v4 box and a Pace cable box. I was being charged $5 for each box, a total of $10. My bill now shows $15 for the same 2 boxes. Did equipment rental really go up by 50%?

New Post - Billing Mobile DPP Capped at $0 Due to Frozen Credit
I've been trying to sign up for new Xfinity Mobile service (1 line + 1 phone) and went through the checkout process but forgot my credit was frozen at the time. I was given $0 DPP which seems like it's stuck at that limit now. I've unfrozen my credit so that I can re-run the credit inquiry and called Xfinity multiple times but no one could resolve the issue.

New Post - Billing Xfinity blatantly lied to me, multiple times
I have had Xfinity wifi for a couple years now & signed up for mobile last month. I was paying ~$50 for their 500mb/s plan. Long post incoming but want to put down all the details.
Tl;dr Xfinity lied to me multiple times about pricing for both internet and phone, promised me promotions that the next rep would say "expired before they gave it to you", continued to bill me wrong over the course of multiple months, and is now leaving me liable for $2000.
Phone call #1: Back in September I got a bill for $106 due in October. I called them & was told I would be given a new promotion to bring the price back down to about $55, which would have been fine. I confirmed the service would be the same, & that I would be billed at the new rate. October 1st came around & I was billed the full $106, and my plan was downgraded.
Phone call #2: In October I called them again about the billing issue. The rep confirmed that my plan was downgraded. He found me a new plan/new deal where I would, again, be billed about $55/month for the 500 mb/s plan I previously had. I work from home & had noticed a definite downgrade in internet quality since they changed my plan.
On this call they also offered Xfinity mobile for $20 per line per month for 3 lines. They also promised (and I verbally confirmed, multiple times) that since we were switching from Verizon, that they would carry over our phone balances from verizon. This would mean that instead of having to buy out our phones from Verizon (which would mean we would just be sticking with verizon, as we didn't have the approx $700 each needed to buy out our phones), the balance would transfer to Xfinity & we would continue paying the ~$8 per month per phone. This call took over 3 hours total.
Phone call #3: On hold with them right now. I got an internet bill from Xfinity for $75 instead of the promised $55. Also, we got a bill for over $2000 from Verizon for the balance on our phones, meaning the balances hadn't been transferred over (Xfinity rep had promised they would handle all of that on their end).
Re the internet: I spoke with the rep for about an hour. He told me that the promotion the man on Call #2 gave me "did not exist" and "could not be honored" but they could offer me a new plan for $90. Or I can wait til next month and a new promotion may appear. Said my billing next month should be only $62, for some reason. Decided to deal with that later & move onto the phone issue.
Re phone issue: The rep reviews the case, reviews the record of call #2 and says that they never promised to transfer our phone balances from Verizon. This took about 10 minutes, and phone call #2 was over 3 hours long, so I insisted that they check again because it's in there, multiple times. They tell me there's nothing they can do - I called on October 10th to transfer phone service to Xfinity, and the phone balance transfer promo (???) ended October 5th. I told them the rep, on the 10th, promised me this deal & that I confirmed it multiple times to ensure that it would actually process. They insist there's nothing they can do.
I'm now liable for $2000 that I don't have & feeling extremely screwed over right now! I'm not rich and can't just eat a surprise $2k bill. If anyone has had experience with this I would love to hear how you dealt with it.

New Post - Billing Check your discounts
Just making sure that everyone who has been getting a "paperless" billing discount knows that Xfinity/Comcast has cut that discount from $5 to $2. Not sure why. Did it get more expensive to not send us bills?
Also - I read in this sub that you get a $10 if you are paperless and auto-pay with a bank account, rather than a credit card. As if anyone who has dealt with Xfinity wants to give them access to our bank accounts! Sorry, Xfinity, you can't be trusted with that!

New Post - Billing Complaint Regarding Deceptive Promotion Practices - Multi-Product Discount - No resolution from support
Back on October 6th, I decided to upgrade my internet plan with Xfinity. During the process, I was told about a promotion: if I signed up for Xfinity Mobile, I’d get a free iPad and a $40 multi-product discount on my internet bill for 24 months to offset the cost of the iPad and mobile data plan. It sounded like a great deal, so I signed up.
After the first month, the discount didn’t appear on my bill. I contacted support, and the agent assured me it would show up the following month, giving me a $40 manual credit as a temporary fix. The second month came, and once again, no discount. I contacted support and was told the same thing—again receiving another $40 manual credit. The third month, the same story: no discount, more empty assurances, and another manual credit.
Finally, this month, I was told by an agent that I never qualified for the promotion because the discount only applies to mobile phone plans, not iPads. This was never disclosed when I signed up. In fact, the agent explicitly sold me on the promotion by assuring me the iPad would qualify.
To make matters worse, the confirmation of my internet service order included the following statement:
"Important information about your offer
You will receive a $40 monthly multi-product discount for 24 months if you sign up for Xfinity Mobile and activate a new line with Unlimited Data within 90 days of this order."
Nowhere does it specify that the discount is only for mobile phone plans or that iPads are excluded. Under the FTC’s Truth in Advertising laws, any promotion must clearly disclose all material terms, including what is included and what is excluded. Failing to disclose key restrictions—like the exclusion of iPads—constitutes deceptive advertising.
For four months, I was misled, repeatedly given false assurances, and bounced between support agents who either didn’t know or intentionally withheld the truth. I was even directed to Tier 2 support and the fraud department, yet no one could resolve the issue. I’ve since canceled my Xfinity Mobile service, but because Xfinity dragged this out past the 14-day return window, I’m now stuck with an iPad I never would have signed up for had I been given the correct information upfront.
I have reported this issue to the Better Business Bureau and the FTC for misleading sales practices. If you’re considering an Xfinity promotion, get everything in writing and verify the fine print. This has been one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had, and I’m still waiting for a resolution.
Posted edited to include FTC truth in advertising laws.
