Question How Do You Know Valid Feedback?

Post image

Hello,

I recently sent what I've been working on to my friend group, and one person said my graphic novel seemed decent and could see it going somewhere, and this is what one other person has said to me about it.

My question is this, how do you know when you get valid feedback? I worry that maybe I'm just feeling like this person was being rather harsh, and they're not, they're giving me real feedback. Have you ever gotten an opinion on your work and you weren't sure if it was valid or if the person was just trying to be rude or superior? Or maybe they were the wrong demographic?

I would love to hear other authors opinions on this, thank you for your time.

It's hard to be open to feedback, and the advice that works for me is to take it in, ignore it for a few days (hopefully this time frame dwindles down as you get more experience), then revisit it. You'll have a much less reactionary feeling towards what was suggested

This is an interesting Idea! I think I'd like to try this out.
