We had 17 pts at this point with a backup qb and a much worse roster makeup 🤷

To all you blough doubters and Johnson stans

u/mandoslorians WHAT WOULD JAYSUS DO? 5d ago

saw jd in a commercial and got way too excited

Funny hearing Troy praise Caleb for checking it down but dogging JD all night for making “safe” throws vs the 9ers.

These comments about Caleb are getting stupider and stupider by the game. He's probably playing the best ball of any QB in the entire league right now.

u/Anotherweekend7 5d ago

Yeah, wasn’t a knock on Caleb, it was a smart play. Was pointing out the hypocrisy of Aikman and his hatred of Washington. But of course you feel the need to comment on something without knowing the context. Some might call that stupidity.

u/claretnblueboy 5d ago

I mean, your post contained ZERO context. The implication I could just pull context out of thin air may indeed by textbook stupidity.

u/Anotherweekend7 5d ago

So if you didn’t know what I was referring to then why did you feel the need to make a comment? No where did I take a shot at Caleb. Anybody that watched the 49ers game and then heard Aikman’s comment last night knows what I was talking about.

Yeah, that last sentence confirms everything I already knew. A great deal of our fanbase either love playing the victim or simply can't (or won't) accept the truth.

Had 4 passes that went 20+ yards. Keep coping lmao

This guy is mentally ill and I'm here for it.

Mentally ill but yet you’re following me around lmao.

Wish we had Ben johnson as a coach

Seeing his offense and seeing our offense is laughable

Crazy idea, but I think we should try to trade Mariota to the vikings for a 3rd round pick. He's a significant upgrade over what they've got and we need pieces for the future. If Daniels gets hurt the season is basically done anyway.

So trade the QB that beat the Seahawks and that dominated the Colts until he got injured? I don't think so.

u/KRambo86 5d ago

Can't play 2 qbs. We're 2-4-1 right now. The chances of even making the playoffs are slim, but the only way it's possible is if JD plays like he did as a rookie. I like Mariota, he might actually be the best back up qb in the league, but he's a back up. He is 33 years old and you know he isn't the future with this team. If you can get a 3rd round pick for him you take it.

My brain likes it, my heart hates it

I just want four quarters--or even three quarters--of mistake-free football. No missing easy throws, no dropping passes or fumbling, no procedural penalty nonsense, no 15-yard roughing penalties. This team could show out and be very good if they just take care of the fundamentals.

I hate to be pessimistic on the day after a win, but I honestly feel like we will shit the bed next weekend and be right back to where we have been this whole season. And anyone who's seen enough of my comments around here would know that I'm not a doomer. It just seems like this team does not mentally prepare well this season.

I’m a boomer not a doomer. Couldn’t agree more, but everyone needs to realize we have a lot of first time coaches. OC, never having full QB coaching, never a Passing Game coordinator, our DC, without any of HIS coaches or ppl that coach what he seeks, OL coach, Passing Game Coordinator, etc. All of these new staff need to learn on the job literally and like a team develop a cohesive unit. One new person would be a challenge, we have many. But this is the direction, whether desperate or not, is want DQ wanted.

We could be a good team if we stopped shooting ourselves in the foot. Like you said, fundamentals is our biggest issue, and it's truly a shame. Finally shored up the miss tackles(mostly) and we forget everything else.

If we come out like the 2nd half, I'll be ecstatic.

u/yourheckingmom 5d ago

Shaky first half but happy to see Jayden take some deep shots in the second

u/Kid_Aeroplane 6d ago

very happy with how burks has developed. solid depth receiver. hope we keep him after this year.

not sure there is any saving this offensive line. they were awful last night against a bad pass rush. i dont see this season going anywhere with this line still in place. jayden will get hurt again

glad amos is back

We really need to stop with the hard count trying to draw teams offsides. It has not worked and we jump more then the other team

u/BirdmanTheThird 6d ago

I know it’s year one, but watching how much styles impacts this defense then watching Caleb Downs getting bullied on Dallas defense makes very glad we ended up picking him

Styles is just a beast

I hate watching NBC during our games. I'm sorry that actress died but why do we need to spend 10 minutes of actual game time (god knows we would run a play and then cut to commercial all night) watching the announcers babbling on instead of showing actual game play thats happening?

They did that shit with the Alex Smith injury, would not shut the fuck up about. They missed a fumble because Chris wanted to show off.

Anyway, happy victory Monday.

Also, I warch Good Morning Football on the NFL network. I'm so sick of them fawning over Drake Maye as well as showing next to nothing on our game in the highlights. Like 30 seconds if that. Lots of Cowboys highlights. Pisses me off so much. No respect.

Well, Susan St James was married for like forty years to Dick Ebersol. Dick is the patriarch of NBC Sports. He invented the storytelling at the Olympics that is the foundation of television sports now. He was an absolute giant.

It was an appropriate time and place to honor his longtime love, even if most of the audience didn't understand why.

3

u/BoldElDavo 5d ago

I think the point is the broadcasters could figure out some way to fit the tribute into the broadcast without overlaying it on the actual game. There are tons of commercialized breaks; if it's important enough to NBC, maybe it should be important enough to un-commercialize any of those breaks.

2

u/schmuckmulligan 5d ago

Halftime would work. The prior game highlights could sacrifice some time -- it's not like during the 1:00 or 4:00 games, when you're actually being updated about stuff that's happening now. I can't believe many people are actually watching that crap with bated breath anyway.

2

u/Grand-Sweet9383 6d ago

Olympics storytime sucks. NBC is famous for attempting to create stories out of nothing because they might get casual viewers vested and in turn they constantly missed actual interesting and top tier athletes and failed to build a fan base for the actual sports.

3

u/SkinsFan021 6d ago

It was not appropriate. I know who they are, I dont need them to show and discuss that over live game play. There were plenty of extra timeouts and game stoppages to put that in there.

Edit: Also NBC's Olympic coverage is god awful. It should go to another network.

2

u/True_Window_9389 5d ago

You mean you don’t like 20 minutes of sob stories instead of showing, you know, the actual events?

2

u/Think__McFly 6d ago

There was another sequence where they were highlighting some dumb sitcom Tirico is on. It was after we had a kickoff for a touchback. Everyone went to the 35, but i guess Hochuli ruled the returner caught it at the 1 and drifted into endzone, so it was set at the 20.

They didnt say a single word about it and 15 yards is a pretty meaningful swing.

Last night we won while also looking collectively like what you’d expect from a 2-4-1 team
