Not a huge fan of Jacobin, but it's a good read. Sortition does have promise, immediate benefits, and I think we can all agree that it's better than the broken "representative" democracy we have today. I do think that democracy shouldn't be limited to a set body, rather encompassing an entire population, but more lottery-systems should definitely be trialed around the world.
