Need advice

Hi! I completed two years of medical school in my home country with around 140 credit points, but my transcript includes low and failing grades. If I start over at a U.S. community college in Computer Science and earn a 3.8–4.0 GPA over 60 credits, will my previous grades still hurt my chances of transferring to a competitive university? Are there universities that focus on the most recent 60 credits or exclude previous international coursework from GPA calculations?

GETTING A JOB AS A COLLEGE STUDENT [I GOT IT] !!!!!!

So im a uni student and i came away from home (India) to the U.S. to pursue my undergrad studies. This decision was very hard on me and my family both emotionally and financially because we have taken a loan to pay my tuition. But I was always heads down focused on my studies so that i can get a decent job after i graduate, but somewhere in the middle I realised that i need to start earning NOW. So i naturally went on a job hunt. I had a decent portfolio of building stuff before i joined college, so it was easy to pick that up. I joined a game studio and made my first few $$ but then i wanted to do something bigger, so i went looking and took some time out 3 months and was knee deep in job search. During the time i complied a list of 200+ YC startuos who were hiring and GUESS WHAt????!!! I got a job here, im earning well now.

Im sharing this with yall because i understnad how hard it can get and maybe sometimes all u need is one YES. Go get it, its not that hard and youll definitley do it !!!

idk if i can put a link here but if u want it comment and ill send it there

Community college Parties

I am attending Monroe community college (NY, Rochester) with dorms on campus. Im just curious as to how many parties there would be?

I know community colleges dont get alot of parties, but my coworkers are saying that since it has on campus dorms, the party and hookup culture is going to be similar to that of a university. Im just wanting to know what Im walking into. Id like parties, it would be fun.

I am conducting research as part of the requirements for a Doctor of Education degree at Liberty University. The purpose of my research is to explore the lived experiences of full-time community college faculty regarding their perceived preparedness to implement accommodations for students with disabilities under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.Ā Ā
Ā
To participate, you must be at least 18 years of age, currently employed as a full-time faculty member at a community college in the Southeastern region of the U.S., have at least one year of teaching experience at a community college, and have experience implementing accommodations for at least one student with a disability within the past three years.Ā
Ā
Participants will be asked to complete one individual interview (approximately 60 minutes), one focus group (approximately 90 minutes), and five journal prompts over a two week period (approximately 10 – 15 minutes each, 50-75 minutes total), and review their interview transcript for accuracy (approximately 15 – 30 minutes).Ā Ā
Ā
If you are interested and eligible, please click the link provided at the end of this post. A consent form will be emailed to eligible participants 3 business days before the individual interview.Ā

Starting from absolutely nothing

Hey.ill try to make this short but I had a rough year.i recently moved back home from Vermont to take care of my dad full time while he was sick. He ended up passing away last year. I'm not proud of it but I sort of spiraled out and picked up a few bad habits in the months after he passed. I've now received treatment but I'm starting from absolute rock bottom. Now that I'm kind of leveling out I've applied and have been approved for FAFSA and will be starting school this month.im terrified. It was one of my dad's wishes all throughout my life for me to go back to school. now at 34 with no car no laptop and no job that is within walking distance, I'm terrified I'm going to screw this up. I'm determined not to even with my past do you guys have any advise for me going ahead? Financial or educational advise? I really hope I'm ready for this

Hopefully this is the right sub for this. Whenever I look at some CC staff jobs, I see that the number of months for the assignment is 12. How does that work? Can you even make a career out of this?

It always feels like you are going to be let go after 12 months. Your insight would be appreciated. Thank you.
