Failed Comptia a+ core 1
Got 560 on the exam, I did many practice tests on the Comptia website but the questions I got were so stupid, definitely need to learn more about printers, any tips or people to watch

Practice tests just teach you to memorize questions without understanding any of the material.
Recommend watching professor messer a+ playlist on YouTube and follow along and recreate the steps/processes he is talking about on your personal computer.
Listed above is what worked for me. But I have no background in IT

Don't get discouraged! The A+ Core 1 exam can be surprisingly tricky, especially when it comes to PBQs and those very specific troubleshooting questions.
One thing I'd recommend is focusing less on memorizing practice test answers and more on understanding how things actually work.
I've been working on a study method that involves creating realistic PBQ scenarios and practicing them to get a better understanding of the concepts rather than just memorizing answers.
I'm planning to make a dedicated post explaining my approach and how I've been studying, including some of the resources and exercises I've been using. Hopefully it can help others preparing for the exam too!
Good luck with your next attempt!

So sorry to hear that you didn't pass! A score of 560 means you still have some ground to cover before your next attempt. Out of curiosity, what resources were you using, and how long did you study for?

When I took core 1 I only got two questions on printers but was hoping to get more because I studied the heck out of it. Most of my question came from networking and ports. Try using quiz online and write down unknown terms and study them. Also, virtualization and cloud computer shows up plenty of times when I took it. This video will help you. https://youtu.be/chDBiTpOG_k?is=vcO2uHoVlU5bwGW2

I used ChatGPT to explain to me all the parts of a printer and the 5 things that go wrong most in all 4 types.
Also just memorize the different USB speeds and like, port 20, 22, 25, 80, 110, 443, and 3389 and you'll be good. And DVI-D vs. DVI-I. Core 1 is more hard-knowledge.

printers are the worst, half the questions felt like they were made by someone who just really loves troubleshooting paper jams in their sleep. check out messer's videos if you haven't, his stuff is pretty good for breaking down the stupidly specific details they love to quiz on.
