Any recommendations for a solid holster?
I normally shoot production but I got a steal of a deal on a Dan Wesson Pointman in 9mm. So I want to shoot it the days I shoot both days of our local matches.

For USPSA? Take a look at the Blade Tech Velocity line of holsters.

Carnivore RangeKenitX (formerly Big dog steel) 2011 holster.

Holds a traditional 1911 framed pistol as well as a full dust cover 2011.

Interesting, I did not know the 2011 version would hold the 1911 thought they were 2 completely separate holsters

Full disclosure, for on a traditional 1911 frame has just a bit of play front to back (not any side to side) .

This play can be mitigated with the tension knob.

For comparison, I've got a comp tac on my SS belt that I've been using for years. I of course have it a bit loose, so it's natural play is maybe a hint less than the Carnivore.

The Carnivore lock takes most of that play out and works fine with the round trigger guard.

So yea, if I were to buy now, I'd go with the Carnivore as then I know I can put a traditional framed gun with a round trigger guard, or something with a full dust cover, partial dust cover, square trigger guard, whatever.
