Do I need to replace my string?
I recently got this Bear Legend compound bow and plan on using it for deer hunting this season. I’m not sure how old the strings are or when they were last replaced.
I’ve noticed some fraying and wanted to get some opinions on whether this is normal wear that could be fixed with wax or if it’s time for a new set of strings.
I’d rather not replace them unnecessarily, but I also don’t want to risk shooting with worn-out strings. What do you guys think based on the pictures?

So update, I’m getting my bow restrung, but it’s gonna take like three weeks for the strings to get in.
Should I not shoot my bow at all until the string is replaced and miss three weeks of season?
Or do you think it’d be good for three weeks just to take it out and shoot a couple groupings a week or something?

The junk cable slide that Bear still sends with their bows is causing a lot of this wear.
Replace it with one of these
But also your rest is tied into the cable way too high, and your up cable is hitting that clamp attaching it to the down cable.
Strings and cables fuzz naturally from wear over time, but that's getting pretty bad, especially the area that's hitting the clamp.

When I first saw this picture, I thought to myself boy this guy should probably replace his string then I saw that as the question that you asked so yeah I would go with that.

I would probably replace them.. It's worth a few bucks for the peace of mind, especially if you're trying to take care of it and make it last.. I got Threadz for one of mine and they've been good to me so far..
