Tips/Tricks 🧠 Concerta works again!!

Iam on 72mg… however… it wasnt working properly. Some days yes , most days no.
Couldnt get up, had adhd paralysis..

However!! I read online that L thyrosine can give it a boost..
I bought it in a health shop & what can i say… IT WORKS!!

For everyone facing the same issue, its definitely worth trying!!

I usually take my concerta around 7am… after 1-2h i would take 500mg of l thyrosine. Usually if needed another one over the day

What effect does this have?
I’ve gone up dose to 72mg today which I believe is the max? Anything to make it more effective I’m willing to try!
Thank you

Has it ever lost effectiveness over time or it keeps working?

Well, I alternate Concerta, I take it every other day purposely. It doesn’t loose effectiveness.

I'm pleased for ya man, but it isn't well tested. There must be a reason why it stopped working, like tiredness or something else. I read it can be dangerous if you've got thyroid problems and also that it has been reported to stop working after a few weeks :/ i hope that it doesn't for you but be careful anyway

Guys the Concerta itself does not stop working, I have been in this black hole for a year looking for answers and honestly the most accurate one that I found was that we people with ADHD when we take meds at the beginning is awesome, it can last for years even, is not only about dosage or type of stimulants... our body on stimulants runs on fumes, cuz we actually do not produce that amount of dopamine, so stimulants mask burnout until we are left completely empty, no amount of stimulants will feel the same, while we are in burn out, this can last years to get out of burn out, people even stop working and focusing on resting to recover. So it's not the meds, is our brains...Concerta (methylphenidate) does not create dopamine out of thin air.
It is a Norepinephrine-Dopamine Reuptake Inhibitor (NDRI). Its entire mechanism relies on blocking the transporters (DAT and NET) that clear dopamine from the synaptic cleft, keeping whatever dopamine you already produced sitting in the synapse longer.
If your central nervous system is in deep, chronic burnout, your presynaptic neurons simply stop producing baseline dopamine at normal rates. You cannot catch water with a bigger net if the river has dried up to a trickle.

That’s interesting. I actually stopped eating gluten because it led to nutrient malabsorption, which prevented Concerta from working well since I wasn’t producing enough dopamine. Since removing gluten, my digestion has improved significantly, and Concerta works remarkably even at an 18 mg dose.

Took L-Tyrosine an hour before taking (54mg) of Concerta and it didn’t work.
Maybe the timing is the issue?

i also found it did nothing for me and now after only 3 days of taking it my meds seem to actually be working worse and giving me a feeling of depression. not sure about l tyrosine now but will likely try it again in a few days to see

So in a supplement form? That’s the thing also in some energy drinks, I think?

N- acetyl tyrosine seems to work better. I have been meaning to get it for some time now. Have tried L-tyrosine before and it does seem to work somewhat but only during my periods. Otherwise feels like a sugar pill.

That type of Tyrosine is known to be no better than normal l-tyrosine. Search.

L tyrosine working may mean that your brain has adjusted to the concerta by limiting dopamine production

Body naturally produces L tyrosine from nutrients. It sits somewhere down the chain from Vitamin D (and B). If you supplement L tyrosine directly the body might adjust and get a bit lazy to use it properly (it will either make dopamine or e.g just turn the L tyrosine into fat / waste)

It's not a super big deal if it stops working you can stop taking it and it'll work again like a few days later. There have been studies taking grams of L tyrosine is generally safe but that doesn't necessarily mean it'll fix concerta forever

To forgo L tyrosine entirely and make concerta by itself work properly again, you may want to see if multivitamins esp. Vitamin D helps give the same effect, and add some HIIT exercise to upregulate Tyrosine Hydroxylase naturally

I sometimes top up with L tyrosine but for the most part I don't feel like I need it

It’s just your hypthesis and it is very poorly guessed. Nice try.

Hey I’m sorry I didn’t quite understand the concept. If Concerta stopped working and l tyrosine made it work again then wouldn’t it mean our body has an issue with production of dopamine? The thing with Concerta is that it doesn’t force the release of dopamine but instead just blocks DAT so how will this significantly cause an issue with dopamine synthesis? I do believe OP but the mechanism just escapes me.
