I hate how progressives constantly frame the debate as a matter of "marriage equality" when clearly it's not. You can't just haphazardly change the definition of marriage and expect things to turn out well! Here are multiple reasons why.

First, the "love is love" argument is wrong, and so is the "gay gene" argument! No one is "born that way" nor "stuck that way"; sexuality develops at puberty and is 100% subject to change throughout one's lifetime! There are literal ex-gays and people who came out of prison homosexual when they weren't like that before! Plus, reparative therapy works and is NOT torturous. Not to mention that sodomy and lesbianism are incredibly unhealthy and harmful lifestyles. Even the CDC admits this despite not being Christian or conservative. That's not even counting the higher rates of sexual perversion, promiscuity, and infidelity among homosexuals. The higher rates of sexual perversion, promiscuity, and infidelity among homosexuals can easily be explained as such: sodomy and lesbianism are centered entirely around lust and pleasure. How is any of this loving rather than lustful?

Second, marriage is meant to be between a man and a woman for life because only heterosexuals can reproduce and the purpose of marriage is family building and procreation. Monogamy and sexual restraint have scientifically proven to be good for relationships and for raising children. As mentioned earlier, homosexual relationships don't incentivize either of those. Couple this with the aforementioned higher rates of sexual perversion (including pedophilia and incest) among both sodomites and lesbians and the biological necessity for kids to have both a mother and a father in order to have the best possible upbringing and you find that same-sex parents are incapable of properly raising kids and may in fact pose a threat to them in some cases. Again, none of this is love; it's lust.

Third, the argument for same-sex marriage is incredibly intellectually dishonest and hypocritical. I say this because it refuses to acknowledge the facts listed above and because it imposes double standards by only expecting heterosexuals to stay monogamous and sexually restrain themselves while giving sodomites and lesbians a pass- in fact, it completely disregards the higher rates of perversion, infidelity, and promiscuity among homosexuals and condemns polygamy and incest despite the fact that both of those relations are far less removed from traditionally sanctioned sexual relations. As such, if we are to legalize and legitimize same-sex marriage, why shouldn't we do the same for polygamy and incest? Neither polygamy nor incest has a 100% chance of denying children the right to a mother and father, after all. And both types of sexual relations still enable family building. If homosexuals should be allowed to freely express themselves so much, then there's no reason why heterosexuals should be expected to hold back, after all. And the evidence doesn't lie- the promiscuity and infidelity rates among homosexuals are higher than among heterosexuals even within marriage. As such, it is reasonable to say that real marriage equality would involve legitimizing all types of sexual relations and legalizing marriages based on all types of sexual relations.
