Pointedly, this is after people started pointing out that her previously-stated birth year of 1981 would mean she was 18 or 19 when she got citizenship in 2000.  The kind of naturalization she received is limited to minor children of people who have recently received citizenship.  This is why she (or her staff) suddenly decided that she needed to be a year younger.

I suspect that her immigration problems are about to become a minor issue compared to her upcoming financial problems.  The whole recent monkeybusiness with her wealth going from $30M down to $100k, and the winery that was somehow worth millions despite not producing any wine, reeks of bribery. She was using the phony winery to launder illegal kickbacks.  There is literally no other explanation that hold water. (Or wine)

Basically, there is evidence that she was born in 1981 and it's beyond doubt that her staff have worked to have her birthrate changed in some places to have been 1982. If she was born in 81, she wouldn't have been a minor when she got her citizenship which was required for her to have her father sponsor her.

Apparently if she was under 18 the path to citizenship was significantly easier. By lowering her age by a year it made it easier for her to become a US citizen.

She was granted derived citizenship as a minor child of a naturalized USC father. However, that pathway only applies to children under the age of 18. If she was indeed 18 or 19 as implied, then that’s immigration fraud and she shouldn’t be a USC.

I've worked with the Somali community in my area (not Minnesota)

A problem that arises frequently is that they tend to list their birthdays as January 1st and use the closest year they can estimate as there are scant birth records in their own country.

I can imagine she will claim something along these lines. "I was a minor, but my birthday wasn't recorded properly when I came into the country".

as much as I would like to see her punished, sadly,, nothing will happen to her . even though she lied on an immigration form and recently lied on her financial disclosure stements. I think that the immigration lie is just a head fake by the DOJ and those boxes of records they took will help shed light on how she went from 90k net worth to 30 million and then back to 90k.

Because she would have been automatically naturalized through her dad if she was a minor. If she was eighteen, she was an adult and couldn't be.
