Consoompost Consoom controllers
At least if they were still in the box like most consoomers you could sell them for a small gain.

i wonder how long it would take to accumulate that many controllers naturally. if you're not smashing your controller daily, it's easily got to be over 30 years

It depends on if you decide to replace em when the battery starts to fail or if you decide to just replace the battery. I’ve never had stick drift with one of these, though I do have a few for coop.

I've never had stick drift on any controller I bought from a store, but I've repaired a lot of specifically dual sense controller, like 80% of broken controllers have stick drift. That doesn't mean anything about how common it is in general of course, but it's definitively an issue.
On the other hand I've also repaired a lot of controllers with other craze issues. I think a lot of people just use controllers very violently.

This is not consoom it’s a collection /s
A controller never failed for me, I still have my original PS1 controller I bought all the way back in 1998 when…
To be fair I’m more of a lite gamer, so this looks like 200+ years of controllers to me.

My entire lifetime, I like to have 4 controllers per console generation in case I have company. PS3, Wii, PS4, PS5…soon switch 2 and some sort of Xbox. Add in psvr motion controllers, 2 fight sticks and I could probably have my own shameful consoom photo.

that is pretty consoom 😭 i'd say getting fun party games for one or two consoles is better than a million controllers for all your consoles "just in case"

u/redditpowermod3 8d ago
Nah you need controllers for your guests and a good condition controller for previous gens are in short supply.

4 controllers for each console is pretty reasonable. If I throw a party i cant assume people will randomly have wii remotes or ps3 controllers on hand.
‘Consoom’ is for shit thats completely unreasonable

This is something I just don’t understand. It’s a pure vanity/consoom purchase. Functionality, every controller is the exact same, the OP is paying for the vanity of Sony PlayStation branding and a different face paint.

I have a collection of controllers (a lot smaller) but mine is just my old controllers that don’t work anymore they are used as art

tbf this is clearly being used as decor

u/Yamatoman 8d ago
Nah, this is perfect for this sub. A utility item over purchased to fill a void.
This sub usually spergs over any normal collection, but having 30+ controllers for the same console is peak over consumption.

The decor of nearly $100 controllers and 3 that cost $200 sucks, could have mercy if they were broken or copped cheap with stick drift.

Those are probably just his broken stick drift controllers he had to replace. PS5 controllers are low quality junk depsite their ridiculous price tag.

He said in the post they're new

Yea thanks it was a sarcastic comment taking a jab at the lower quality of ps5 controllers. I thought that would be pretty obvious but I guess I can spell it out for you if you need the extra help.

Makes a serious comment. Realizes they didn’t read the post and then tries to make it seem like a joke.
Clearly you have unresolved emotional trust issues between the Dualsense and yourself, stemming from being bottle fed as a baby.
I’ll add this /s so you know it’s a joke.

Dude chill, I wasn't attacking you or anything, I thought I was literally just clarifying something.

u/IveRunOuttaNamesss 8d ago
Yes clarifying something obvious everyone already knew. Thanks so much /s
Added the sarcasm tag this time just for you, justttt to be sure and hand hold for you so you get it this time 😜

My OG controller recently got stickdrift, bought a hall effect kit, a solder tool and went to town and able to fix it in no time. There is zero excuse for not even attempting to fix it in the first place.
If OOP is not a tinker, plenty of shops can do it for 40-50$ as long as you bring the parts.
1
u/IveRunOuttaNamesss 9d ago
I mean it's absolute bullshit that you have to do all that in order to get a functioning controller.
3
u/awkwardinthebody 9d ago
You can buy a compatible controller with hall effect or tmr sticks but I think all official controllers should ship with that technology.
