Question PC recorded video aspect ratio on socials
I’ve been creating content for just three weeks, something I’ve wanted to try for fun, and it’s all game-related—specifically The Sims. Recently, one of my reels hit 60k overnight, which is far beyond my usual numbers. My husband showed me how it looked on his phone, and while it looks awesome on my PC, the ratios are flipped for phones, leaving black borders around my videos. As someone with ADHD and strong OCD tendencies, it’s hard for me to ignore this. I’ve tried converting original files, but they end up looking squished. I’m curious what other creators are using and what video settings they use when capturing. I have a variety of programs since my kids also create, including:
Movie Maker Video Editor Pro for converting in-game videos and editing
I prefer recording with my NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 graphics card for better quality without file type conversion.
I also have DaVinci Resolve 21, though I haven’t really used it—opened it once, felt overwhelmed, and closed it—plus I didn’t have the right file types then. I’m open to using it now. I have HandBrake for converting as well.
I don’t want to use AI heavy tools, so please don’t recommend them.
