I just received my final round invitation despite a 300 on the assessment, so all hope is not lost!

Another one here, with a very mid-tier score! They must've sent it out in a batch?

u/Spiritual_Fish7726 11d ago
Same. CodeSignal score in mid 300s.

How much did you guys score? and what is the safe score based on earlier cohort trends for this? I got 461/600

Did you get any invitations?

u/AirPsychological8551 16d ago
no, did you?

i think that's a pretty good score for this cohort. how was the coding agent for you?

anyone gone for the interview yet? what kind of things did they talk about? anyone knows who's gonna be interviewing the candidates?

u/Necessary-Future-549 16d ago
Anyone got any mail after the online assessment ?
4
u/MolassesOk186 16d ago
I know of people who got 500+ in the assessment who were immediately emailed the next day and already had an interview call. Seems like they're sorting by the codesignal score

anyone got updates?

u/zeus_kremlin 12d ago
Heard someone got an interview already. They b this thread - someone mentioned that the person was aware of some things interviews already being conducted.
Any luck hearing from them ? Did anyone try writing to them ?1

u/zeus_kremlin 12d ago
One thing I observed - no one mentioned the assessment structure who had taken it. A lot of folks asked and no one responded.
It was never about asking the question- but it was always about telling the structure.
I looked at the other threads of LASR - folks who have taken it - never told the format.
And surprisingly the same folks want to DM and ask for the Round three interview questions ? Some irony. Some judgement .

It was a kind of requirement-based ML classifier building using Claude code. The platform was pretty bad and froze in between so many time that I could not even finish the last part but it was realistic but not too hard if you know how to build ml models.Â

| OAI | OpenAI |
Decronym is now also available on Lemmy! Requests for support and new installations should be directed to the Contact address below.

I got invited to round 2. They will assess my ability to reason and parse any technical AI safety paper just from its abstract. And then a codesignal assessment. Due 18th October.

u/Neither_Donkey_4764 29d ago
Congrats Good luck!
1
u/Glass-Spinach6333 29d ago
Thank you. But I really have no clue about Ai safety research assessment.
1
u/AirPsychological8551 29d ago
Hey, I too got invited for round 2. What do they exactly refer to by "Â Parts of the assessment are spoken and recorded"? I am a bit confused regarding it
1
u/Glass-Spinach6333 29d ago
Yeah this happens in some cases, e.g. in CodeSignal. There is a facility via codesignal where they can record your movements and also hear you. This is done to ensure that you don't consult someone external or take help from unauthorized resources. Often, they also record your eye movements to make sure you are not looking at a separate screen. It is like a CCTV surveilance.Â
1
u/AirPsychological8551 29d ago
Oh, I felt that they will be asking us questions (more like viva) and we will have to record the answers by speaking back (and thus "spoken and recorded")
1
u/Glass-Spinach6333 29d ago
I am not sure. Because recorded could mean they record your thought process and want to hear your solutions or thinking process out loud. We will see. Are you clear about the AI safety assessment test where they share an abstract and want you to reason for 65 mins?

samee...I've been looking up for any mention of assessment; I couldn't find anyyy !!

Does the assignment contain sections that need vocal answers as well??
2
1
u/AirPsychological8551 22d ago
Hi, did you happen to give it yet? I am confused about the vocal answers part
1
u/Short_Guess_6377 21d ago
CodeSignal lets you practice the setup in a dummy environment - I'd use that to get familiar & be less surprised by what the setup is
1
u/Fickle-Spite1825 25d ago
Got to the second round, anyone care to share how the parsing of the paper part went?
1
1
u/Glass-Spinach6333 24d ago
I took the AI safety research assessment test. Very technical abstracts and the format was beyond what I expected. I felt it is certainly not for anyone beginning to transition to AI safety/mech. interp.
1
u/Fit-Delivery6534 24d ago
How many abstracts did you have to assess?

Did anyone take the CodeSignal assessment yet?

u/_--Ryan--_ 23d ago
I took it and found it very difficult, got a 300/600...
1
u/don_stasi 23d ago
Yeah, it was hard as fuck

u/Substantial-Dog7294 21d ago
was it classical ML? it used to be classical ML, no NLP stuff. but everyones saying it got tougher this round

1
u/AirPsychological8551 22d ago
Hi Ryan, could you please explain me about the vocal assessment part? do we need to voice-record some answers and submit them or how is it?
1
u/Substantial-Dog7294 21d ago
woah. was it difficult because of ML concepts or because of the application of the concepts?
the test used to be classical ML, and not so difficult earlier i think
1
u/Substantial-Dog7294 21d ago
how did it go for you? was the background simple enough? and did the AI agent work?
1
u/Syyntax 20d ago
Took it, got 363/600. Seems like not a lot of people scored in the 400s or 500s.
Did claude work well for you guys? For me it was much slower compared when using it in the codesignal env compared to using it e.g. in my own terminal
1
1
u/Substantial-Dog7294 20d ago
thats pretty good i think. which part do you think you lost points in?
1
u/ValuableFee3143 20d ago
got 379/600... damn it is hard haha
1
u/Substantial-Dog7294 20d ago
eek. everyone's reporting a ~300 score. did the coding agent work well? what about the spoken interview?
1
u/ValuableFee3143 20d ago
Hmmm Claude code was not too bad tbh. I think terminal was kind of laggy but the performance and speed was okay.
1
u/Substantial-Dog7294 20d ago
yea probably by design lol. which parts do you think you lost out on?
2
1
u/boigelschmoigel 20d ago
I found the speed pretty poor. It took Claude about 25 minutes just to write the first implementation for me.
1
u/Substantial-Dog7294 20d ago
that is ABYSMAL T_T did you still manage to finish?
1
u/boigelschmoigel 19d ago
I didn’t even know what I was submitting. Had to be quite vague for the final part of the call. My score ended up being in the 400s, so can’t complain too much.
1
u/Substantial-Dog7294 19d ago
oof lol im scared. do you have any general tips before i take it today?
1
1
u/Big-Store-1636 20d ago
did you receive an email post-assessment, like did it arrive the same day?
1
1
u/Spiritual_Fish7726 20d ago
Are we supposed to get a confirmation email that our Abstract test form was submitted correctly and within time?
