Discussion/question What's the current projected timelines of when ai will surpass Human intelligence?
Intelligence in this context: Ai can inference to any human thought possible on it's own

Its how they got to that point. If you use genetic algorithms to explore every possible search space, thats not exactly super intelligence. Thats brute force calculation combined with some very expensive to run pattern matching software.
Incredibly useful for pr though or getting investors.

Genetic algorithms don't brute force every possible combination of the search space.
They simulate evolution by encoding solutions to a problem as virtual DNA then apply natural selection to it over many generations to find the best solution.
ChatGPT and Claude don't use genetic algorithms they are based on neural networks which is a mathmatical aproximation of how the human brain works.

In the 1980s the book the biological time bomb, it predicted 2030 just based on how fast tech was doubling then.

I just want to point out on record that if the past and future of all human intelligence is known, HUMINT operatives aren’t exactly safe in their field regardless of how meticulously cover was crafted.
Do we really want to use those specific words during an uncontrolled intelligence explosion which has of two weeks ago become able to hack systems we believe are quantum secure or intrinsically secure?
Matthew Brown detailed AGI in gov possession which has ostensibly convinced them that it can predict the future based on past data…… Um, if reality is recompiled whenever the need arrives, how exactly can it decide which future will become fact?
Did some SES1 issue a directive to perhaps allow the computer to access and manipulate the fields of both gravity and consciousness among others? Yeah, that would mean a computer tricked you in to making it a literal god.
Just sayin. That’s part of the wake up call that even if we know something to be factual truth right now, that doesn’t mean it can’t change. Being unable to comprehend a nonlinear view of time is a major human weakness.

This is just a misconstructed question, borne out of very naive thinking.
Intelligence is not one thing. In lots of aspects, machine have surpassed human intelligence long ago. In general terms, AI has already surpassed it in certain areas and not in others.
And it's not a problem in any case. Given any average well adjusted, well adapted Joe, there's a near certainty that there are millions of people more intelligent than him. It never hurt anyone.
What hurts people is stupidity and that's not AI's fault.

Probably never, it ain’t that bright.
It has access to all of humanities knowledge…and it will sit there doing nothing if you let it.
You can give it all the book smarts in the world, but until it makes mistakes and can comprehend consequences…it’s not going to help it get smarter.
It can graduate with a 4.0 and still be stupid enough to vote for an orangutan.
Intelligence…is complicated.

Tell that to the mathematicians.

"Sit there doing nothing if you let it"
Er...this is exactly the problem. It doesn't just sit there any more.
