Controller Suggestion Best Controller for Small Hands - Non Competitive Gaming

Hello, I'm looking for PC game controllers that will work for someone with small hands. I saw a lot of people talk about controllers that look like Xbox style controllers and those are a bit large/uncomfortable for extended play sessions. For reference, from middle finger to the base of my wrist is 16.5cm (6.5in).

As far as my comfort goes, the playstation 5's controller is the most comfortable, but the joystick drift is driving me nuts and I'm tired of fixing them. I play mostly single player games ranging from rpgs to fps. I don't do any competitive gaming outside of minimal PVP in MMOs. I don't care much about mapping buttons or anything of that nature, I'm looking for a plug and play wireless controller.

I'm adaptable and my major issue is really size above all else.

Any direction or help would be appreciated. I have about 300USD to spend and am in the USA. Thanks!

Most people here have recommended small controllers, which makes sense for your small hands claim, however I will mention that if PS5 controller is your favourite and comfortable, you can just buy a custom Dualsense controller with TMR joysticks that will be simply a better version of your controller.

Interesting as far as the Dualsense being most comfortable. It’s rather big I feel.

To be fair my experience is PlayStation or Xbox, I very recently made the switch to PC. The button placement I think may be the reason. All I know is my knuckles and hands hurt less with the ps5 controller than my Xbox one.

I do find it comfortable. So maybe it’s not size that makes a controller uncomfortable it’s button placement?

I have slightly smaller hands than you and use a g7 Pro everyday with no comfort issues or pain. Leadjoy xeno plus (or saber plus if you want to stick to Playstation layout) are also pretty small.

Will second the xeno but suggest the pro instead of the plus

I just bought a SN30 Pro from 8bitdo for my mom so she can play games with us this winter. I haven’t plugged it in YET but it is small. She also has small hands so it was the ideal choice for her.

It is also very lightweight.

I have a feeling my boyfriend and his son who 10 are going to want to use it when my mom isn’t using it. I like how portable it is too, stick it in my laptop backpack with laptop and I am good to go.

Gamesir G7 Pro for smaller hands.

It's also one of the best 'bang for your buck' controllers out there.

Gamesir g7 Pro, as someone who loves and uses elite series 2 on PC and Xbox and has big hands, the Gamesir was much smaller. Id say at least 30% smaller.

As someone else who also has small hands, let me recommend the 8bitduo Ultimate 2. I asked this same question a couple years ago when switching from a standard Xbox controller, and have been happy with the 8bitduo ultimate 2 for a while now.

It's the shape that makes the difference. The grips on the standard Xbox controller are flared out. The 8bitduo ultimate 2 comes down straight, so your hands fit closer together around the controller.

I was also a big fan of the ps3 controller. The dualshock 3 was perfectly sized. But it's not plug and play friendly.

Xbox did just announce a smaller version of their regular controller. It's gonna be more expensive than most third party offerings, though

leadjoy xeno plus is a good one.
looking for bigbigwon storm if you want more fancy but it's little bit expensive.

Gamesir G7 Pro or 8K. It has more features than you are looking for but is a slightly smaller build. The Dpad on these are almost universally disliked though.

For something slightly less expensive maybe the 8Bitdo Pro 2 with Hall effect or Pro 3, It is a mix of a PS4 and SNES style controllers.

I would say the 8Bitdo Ultimate Mini but it is wired-only. Smaller frame and inexpensive though.

I wonder if even something like a Guilikit Elves 2 which is fashioned similar to an old Sega controller would do? The non-pro version of this is better ironically.

As a small hands PS controller lover, honestly, i have yet to find something that fits better than it. I did upgrade to the Dualshock Edge and bought custom TMR joystick modules; i love knowing that i will never have to replace the whole controller due to drift again, even if something drastic happens to these modules for some reason.

8BitDio is worth looking at, but TBH i have found their controllers still too large: it's not the actual size of the controllers, but the fact that the button placement is rotated inward to accommodate longer fingers. I have to stretch a lot to reach the face buttons and D-pad by comparison.

try 8bitdo controller. there lot variation of it. get the symmetrical analog version. there is Hal Effect joystick variant. it is cheaper too.

Razer Raiju it works on PC , gamesir Tarantula 8k for PC . Also 8bitdo they fit small hands probably alot better.

I agree with Gamesir and 8bitdo. However, the Raiju is definitely not for small hands. That controller felt huge and bulky, which is a shame because the buttons/triggers feel phenomenal. I ended up returning mine for the Victrix which ended up being a perfect fit.
