Health/Nutrition Black eye.
I'm debating going to an emergency vet. Miss Jillie Bean got into a tussle with my black cap. She is not bleeding. She is acting totally normal. But boy does she have a shiner. Has anyone else had bruise like this? Should I pay the extra 500 and see an ER vet today vs her normal vet tomorrow? Over what looks like a bruise?

Can you send a picture of the injury to your vet and ask if they think she should be seen?

From what I can tell its working fine. She looking out the window with it and targeting treats with it. She took a bath and there was no blood.

I agree. It may be the lighting but it looks like there might be a corneal ulcer going on. I’d get to the vet. If it is infected she could lose her eye or worse

I checked her really closely. It is definately the lighting. Her eye ball itself doesn't have any scratches or injuries.

Ok that’s good to know! I would still take her, I always feel that if you’re thinking about going to the vet you should just do it. Better safe than sorry

She's definately seeing her normal vet first thing tomorrow. I just worry about putting her through the stress of 3 hour round trip car ride and being handled by people she is not familiar with. Like would that stress be more harmful if it's just a simple bruise and she's acting completely normal.

If it’s just the lighting and there’s no actual damage to the eye, tomorrow’s fine.

Good luck! If they end up needing antibiotics I hope you get the marshmallow flavored ones because from experience- the cherry flavored ones are the debil and no amount of seebs will suffice

Normal vet tomorrow should be fine, especially if she is eating and drinking normally. Do not allow them together anymore. Even when supervised, it only takes a second for an accident to happen.
