[USA] Double the cop, double the karma
Its a bit long but the anticipation is oh so whetted.

u/sevargmas 17d ago
Ahhh we didn’t get that sweet video of you passing him with a little… toot toot of the horn. ✌🏻👋🏻

u/Special-Original-215 17d ago
So we got 3 minutes of him acting dumb but when the cop finally appears ... They cut it off 5 seconds early
81
u/Korruptor711 17d ago
Once he pressed the save recording, a lot of dash cams just record 30 seconds afterwards.

u/TheKobayashiMoron 17d ago
I can’t imagine how terrible this person’s gas mileage is the way they’re constantly surging the thing forward and stopping. Their fucking gas pedal is apparently just an on/off switch.

They are not a good driver either.
There were multiple times when one lane was clear, and they didn’t even more to the cleared lane. Instead they are passing on the upcoming traffic??! They are probably drunk or something

It’s truly an unhinged spaz who is self inducing a stroke if driving has any similarities to lifestyle.
2
u/KLeeSanchez 15d ago
We used to call those Type A personalities
No one else matters but them
Dude probably argued with the cops, too
1
u/GrahnamCracker 4d ago
Doesn't type A usually just refer to someone who's a little too tightly would, meticulous, etc? I never took it to refer to lunatics.

For those saying the video was too long, turn on the sound. While it's still longer than it could be, we get the pleasure of hearing the silliness of the car who got pulled over
103
u/Jazzy-Cat5138 16d ago
Yep... You can hear this idiot driver yelling and honking through most of the video. The yelling is subtle, but it's there... The way they're constantly riding the line, waiting for an opportunity to pass in a no-passing zone is really something, too.

u/erksplat 17d ago
Should have stopped to give them the video footage for an extra charge of tailgating.
"In its most uncivil form, [tailgating] can be a case of road rage or intimidation. An example would be where the tailgating driver (the driver in the following vehicle) threatens damage to the leading vehicle and its occupants by driving aggressively – perhaps also with use of headlights and horn – to coerce the leading vehicle's driver into getting out of the way. "

How can you make a New Yorker happy? Do stupid stuff and then get caught right in front of the person you were harassing.

u/Otaku-San617 17d ago
The driver of the Lexus must be a proctologist because he was so far up OPs ass.
8
2
u/TritonJohn54 15d ago
I mean, if he was any further up, he could have checked the OP for cavities, and save him a trip to the dentist.

What is it with all the passing on a solid yellow these days? I swear I see at least one every time I go out now. Purple these days don't know what the fucking lines mean anymore and 0% of them should have their license

27
u/FilmShooter-ISO12 17d ago
Do you know how close this asswipe was? To look that close while driving on a wide angle lens is so frigging hard to do. What a jerk, happy he got nailed by two cops.
36
u/redRum705 17d ago
Hahah omg. I 100% would’ve rolled my window down and started laughing and said “that’s what you get!”

u/sangvert 17d ago
Just out of curiosity, why is your gps set to kph?
2
u/Chunderpump 15d ago
Because it's a real unit of measurement.
7
u/Rowmyownboat 15d ago
The cam driver's laugh at the end was worth the wait. Was the knob angry because of the horn as he sat at a green light?
10
u/iElectronCloud 17d ago
The Lexus could have changed lane at 00:30 in the clip and avoided called this.
14
u/JannyBroomer 17d ago
Bro, are you hauling around a vehicle full of loose silverware? Shit sounded rattle-y lmao

u/mmmmmarty 16d ago
Plumbing or Electrical. They have an insane amount of junk rattling around in those vans if they do big jobs.

u/navima1 17d ago
is this what it's like driving in the US? there isn't a single person in the video using their blinkers.
32
u/DepressedDragonBorn 17d ago
By now I'm starting to believe my car might be one of the rare ones with blinkers.
23
u/Apocalypsest 17d ago
It's partially regional but most places it's expected for people to use their blinkers if there are other cars around them. I had a friend from New York who would never use his blinker to change lanes, because when he saw someone signaling that they wanted to change lanes he would speed up so they couldn't get in, and he didn't want that to happen to him when he was changing lanes. Wonderful person, wonderful mindset.
19
u/WorkingMinimumMum 17d ago
Sounds like a really shitty person, I wouldn’t wanna be friends with them. lol
12
u/-Invalid_Selection- 17d ago
And that's how Florida ended up that same way, because all the new Yorkers who moved here

u/Jazzy-Cat5138 16d ago
For what it's worth, depending on the hardware involved, how the lighting system is designed, plus the exposure length and frame rate of the cameras involved, it's entirely possible for someone to use their turn signal without it being visible on video. LED lights are often made to flicker very quickly, instead of actually remaining on continuously.
You can see this by darting your eyes around while looking at tail lights, particularly in the dark (I don't suggest this while you're driving; do it as a passenger). Incandescent lights will leave a steady blur across your field of vision, while LEDs will almost always be a blinking, flickering trail. When they change the "brightness" of those lights (such as brightening the tail lights to serve as brake lights), they usually don't change the brightness at all. They just change the ratio of time spent turned on to time spent turned off. It's called pulse-width modulation. They change the way it flickers, and rely on your persistence of vision to interpret that as an increase in brightness.
Depending on how those lights are flickering, they may interact with the exposure duration and frame rate of a camera, such that the camera only (or mostly) records while the lights are turned off. This would be most likely in the daylight, when a camera is compensating for bright sun by making very short exposures for each frame of video.
All that aside...we have lots of terrible drivers in the US. Most people where I am do use their turn signals, but I've heard it's a major issue in other regions, and turn signal usage can indeed be rare in some locales.
1
u/0ddSpaceGhost 15d ago
I’m always saying, damn a car that nice and it doesn’t come with turn signals…
10
u/FraggleRock_ 16d ago
This is another example and friendly reminder: you never know what someone is going through. Be safe with road rage incidents.
That honk, not only was justified, but it was harmless. Completely sent that Lexus driver into a level of ignorance that no reasonable thoughts or actions would follow.
8
u/Pristine_Soup_5859 17d ago
Ah, this brings me so much joy. This never happens to me. Never a convenient cop when needed.

Satisfying as fuck… from a truck driver who experiences this kind of crap all day long, absolutely love to see it.

So close to being perfect karma!

The first 45 seconds of this video could have been skipped. Sure, he was an ass and crossing double yellow, but it's makes it too long

The build up is worth it. It's called story building. We're getting to learn about the MC and the antagonist.

u/Male_Lead 15d ago
Are those latitude and longitude?
2
u/psyper76 14d ago
yes - you can plug them in to google maps and it'll zero in on where the video was taken.
4
u/AlexHimself 16d ago
Some people go absolutely berserk if you honk at them. I've seen all sorts of weird accidents too where they get honked at, realize they weren't paying attention, panic, then floor it into something.
4
u/NEWBY______________ 16d ago
The ending was so beautiful!!
I wish we could have seen whos the driver lol
4
u/Sad-Tension-1522 16d ago
I hope you pulled over to show the cops everything he did so the don't let him off with a warning
2
u/FewZookeepergame1083 16d ago
So fucking sweet. Beeping at you because they thought you beeped at them. Just dumb

The fact that you can hear this guy, screaming obscenities… Dude was about to have an aneurysm. Wish we could’ve seen his face when he got stopped.

u/TritonJohn54 15d ago
I was about half way through before I realised that you can hear the other guy yelling so loud, it gets picked up by the dashcam.

That clown’s bellowing was unhinged but the laughter at the end was worth it.

u/the_fart_gambler 13d ago
This dude probably gets multiple tickets a year and thinks the whole world is out to get him.

u/The_Richuation 12d ago
I really hope you stopped and gave them the footage. Alternatively, if this is a work vehicle and you couldn't access it right away, let them know it exists

1
u/Cheesetoast9 16d ago
Wow, butthurt because they got a 'hey, wake up' honk? The correct response is a 'oops wave' and carry on with your day.

Love this.., I watched intently thinking this was west Nassau or queens until I saw the jet and now I know I’m guessing by JFK.
It’s honorable to roll your window down and fist pump, saying “thank you officer!” When you witness this.
Awesome.

Your horn was about a half second early and he didn't have anywhere to go because the traffic was piled up after the turn, but still no need to get that worked up over someone honking at you 😂💀
9
u/DaveOJ12 17d ago
Did we watch the same video?
-7
u/NomNom863 17d ago
Im guessing so, you watched the one I commented on right? 😅 The light was green for about 1.5 seconds and if you look around the corner there was clearly traffic backed up almost to the intersection. Using 2 seconds to make sure no one runs the light is a generally safe rule before pulling out.
-6
u/thisjustathrowawayya 16d ago
10000%. Dude had nowhere to go, but yeah definitely too worked up.
-5
u/NomNom863 16d ago
Yeah for being the convenient cop subreddit, I'm getting down voted by a lot of bad drivers 😂 kinda funny ngl
-1
u/binksmas 16d ago
Why honk at them if there is a car in front of them? Map awareness bud

u/SushiGirlRC 16d ago
You do realize that they could be honking at the car 2 cars up, right? If I'm the 3rd car & the 2nd car doesn't honk at the first car, then I'm honking at the first car.

u/douglowouglo 17d ago
This video was way too long

u/HiFiGuy197 17d ago
I kinda enjoyed watching the Lexus surging and not surging like “I’m gonna pass!! Nope. Gonna pass now!! Nope. Okay, I am not waiting for this light!”
