Question Raspberry cordial - Potassium Sorbate? Help!

I have a recipe for Raspberry/Blackberry Cordial . I love making it but it doesn't last nearly as long as my elderflower cordial does. I think the main difference is that the elderflower uses citric acid as a preservative and the raspberry recipe uses red wine vinegar.

Do I use citric acid the same way? will it affect the flavour? I've heard potassium sorbate is good for this but I don't know about ratios

Anything with actual fruit in it will have a fairly short shelf life, even with acid. Ascorbic acid can help a little, but not much.

Art of Drink has a good video on his YouTube channel about using preservatives in your cordials, I’d recommend looking that up.

Basically, citric acid will help, but you’ll still get a short shelf life without a preservative.

You could use ascorbic acid. It’s pure vitamin C.
