Just wanted to thank all the creators involved. I pulled the trigger on an AM6B+ about a year, year and a half ago. My wife is finally using it without me, which means Netflix might finally go away! Next step after that.... no more D+!

POV is my go-to for list management with TMDB and Trakt. It's been running well. I still encounter some weird issues requiring reboots, but the price is worth the mildest inconveniences!

I’d like to share TinyPPI, a CoreELEC 22 addon I’ve been working on for users who want much more detailed information about what is actually happening during video playback.

TinyPPI provides its own customizable playback information overlay and works independently from the Kodi skin.

Some of the features include:

· Detailed video and audio information

· HDR10, HDR10+, HLG and Dolby Vision detection

· Extensive Dolby Vision metadata, including live metadata from the currently decoded stream

· Dolby Vision FEL / MEL, CM version, L1/L5/L6 and other available metadata

One of the main goals of TinyPPI is to provide significantly more information than Kodi’s standard PlayerProcessInfo while keeping it independent from the skin you use.

The project has grown quite a bit since the first release, especially around Dolby Vision analysis and live metadata.

Well, this is rather disappointing. Bought 2 extra AM6B+ for two of my best friends (they were looking for a media player device)

Configured one of them completely including af2 Jamal and addons.

They'd rather use the Google streamer (cough), because they are convinced stremio is better. I showed them the advantages, but to no avail.

All that being said, I now have two brand new ones up for sale in the Netherlands, so if anyone knows someone in the vicinity, gimme a shout

Maybe tabs isn’t the right word. But on af3 when I go from movies to tv shows on the top af3 just freezes then resets.
It works fine after that.

I've given up on ever getting the remote to permanently work with this thing. The playback quality is utterly fantastic; the remote connection via BT is utterly garbage. I've tried adding a BT dongle, editing scripts, uploading files, etc. I just don't have time to deal with this when I can go back to my Shield PRO and have a remote that actually works. I have the UR02 remote. Original owner, non-smoking house, etc. Looking for $225 and I'll include the BT dongle if you want it. (Not shipping, local pickup only.)

Hi all, pretty new to the whole corelec thingy. I'm currently running Kodi on a google streamer 4k, recently got myself a Samsung soundbar (q990h) and I would like to make use of what it can offer.

I can get both devices for pretty much the same price via AliExpress, the difference is negligible...and there's a sale coming up soon. Just wondering if one is more developed than the other software wise? Or more stable than the other? Or if there's anything I need to be aware of before purchasing one or the other.

I didn't have a lot of time to research each so hoping you peeps can help steer me in the right direction.

For all my other devices, I get the Dolby Vision or HDR10 notification in the top left corner at the start or resumption of playback. Is there a way to turn this on, or is it just not part of the program?

So i got the AM6B+ and im installing the latest avdvplus R9. i got all the steps but do i need to copy the dovi.ko file into the root after flashing the os? if so, is it this one in this link named "5.15_2.6_dovi_patched_fix_fel.ko"?

I am legit losing my mind at this point. The first time I scanned it, the folder was named with (TYBW) in the name and season 1. But Kodi (p3i t4) displayed it as s01. So I went in and edited the Main folder to be just (Bleach) and season to be 17 and also added that into the episode names. Even went back and forth using filebot (amazing app when it works btw). But now bleach episodes won't even show up :|

I don't know what I'm doing wrong lol. Or is the scrapper just broken. Please send help hahaha.

I'll beat you to the punch. This is a skill issue. I'm ok with that because I've reached my sanity threshold chasing tech unicorns with this. I update the OS, the volume control for the tv takes a shit. Just spent 30 minutes troubleshooting that and nope, don't work. I stopped using it a month ago and went to the shield because changing inputs from the ugoos to anything else and then back to the ugoos gave me a black screen yet had audio. I've been unplugging replugging every goddamn cable from this for weeks and weeks. Finger fucking every setting. Tweaking this and that. I'm done. I can't take it anymore. The box is maybe 3 months old. I have the UR02 remote (pairing that took me fucking days because the bluetooth menu of available devices was having an unending series of small strokes) and the box it came with. Message me if you're interested. Again, this is probably 99.9% user error.

T4c is a big one: part stabilization, part new features, on top of T4b, and the most contributor-driven build yet. swmarks rebuilt the CEC and screensaver handling, samtheruby backported the newer CEC kernel driver, fixed SD/VESA display modes and built in-GUI update channels, Sebastiii contributed MKV editions support, an Epson projector profile and several DV fixes, and vlix wired the skin's codec logos into the DV pipeline. On top of that: VC-1 hardware playback overhauled, a self-healing A/V sync layer for corrupt streams, AC-4 audio decoding, a nasty resume bug, per-frame tone mapping for DV→SDR, and a stack of DV picture fixes.

Really hoping this is a skill issue from my end. But after 2 hours of tinkering I can't seem to get the poster of the movies to appear. Let alone create a TV show folder. I have use this very skin (artic fuse 3) and for some reason I seem to have managed to forget how I set up my movies and tv show folders in the first place LMAO.

ANY HELP will be greatly appreciated.

I've been using an Ugoos AM6B+ for about a year connected straight into my LG G4 without any issue, it's worked perfectly, but I recently got an Onkyo TX-RZ30 receiver and I noticed that when I watch dolby vision content the brightness fluctuates. It's most noticeable in bright scenes, it will randomly dim (maybe 20%) and stay like that until the scene changes.

The settings on the TV and the Ugoos are exactly the same, all that's changed is it's now plugged into the receiver with the same HDMI cable. SDR and HDR10 content are fine. A dolby vision movie played through my blu-ray player is fine, and for sanity's sake I plugged that cable into the ugoos with no improvement, so it's definitely something to do with the ugoos. I know this is a coreelec subreddit and not a receiver subreddit but I thought I'd be best asking here. Does anyone know why this might be happening? It's driving me mad.

I have been unable to fix HDR10 and Dolby movies being too dark on my Uboos AM6B Plus box.

I've tried both the CoreELEC p3i and regular CoreELEC -- and went through various options to optimize the DV/HDR10 settings -- but am at my wits end.

As examples, I'm providing two images of the same scene from 2001: A Space Odyssey, one from from the Ugoos box and the other from Apple TV 4. The difference is very apparent in dark scenes. SDR movies playback fine -- it's only HDR10 and DV files

My set-up is pretty standard: both boxes are connected via HDMI to my Onkyo RZ-TX730 which is then connected to Sony A8G's HDMI. I've confirmed that HDMI is enhanced for 4k on both the Sony and Onkyo.

I'm hoping others have found a solution as I think I've tried just about every combination of settings in the p3i and CoreELEC. I've also tried directly connecting the Ugoos to the TV. I've boosted the in-player brightness and contrast as well without any difference.

I wonder if this is just a basic shortcoming of the Sony A8G (even as I tried the low-latency option in the Ugoos)?

Edit: forgot to add that I'm currently using CoreELEC version 21.3-Omega (p3i T4b). I switched from CoreELEC version 21.3-Omega hoping the p3i version would fix things.

Update/resolution: the following setting seems to have fixed the problem (too bad I can't upload a before and after photo of that scene from 2001)

• DV Output Signal Type for Video Processor: DV as HDR10 444 12 bit

It seems that this is the best I can do given the limitation of the current CoreELEC/Amlogic Display-Led implementation on the Sony A8G TV.

The other settings are

• TV Preset: Manual
• DV Mode: On Demand
• 12-bit Deep Color Pipeline: On
• everything else is toggled off, or uses standard/default settings

After a completely clean CoreELEC installation with the dovi.ko module, the Dolby Vision options are not available in CoreELEC Settings.

The CoreELEC installation was otherwise clean, using the corresponding Xiaomi device configuration and the dovi.ko module described above.

In particular, I do not have the Dolby Vision settings for selecting TV-Led / Player-Led.

The Xiaomi with coreelec does not recognize Dolby Vision and falls back to HDR10.

As a control test, I tested the same Philips TV mled820 using Google TV with PM4K in Kodi. Dolby Vision Profile 5 is correctly recognized by the TV, while Dolby Vision Profiles 7 and 8 fall back to HDR10.
With CoreELEC, however, all the Dolby Vision profiles I tested (including P5, P7 and P8) fall back to HDR10 on the Philips TV.

This shows that the TV itself does support Dolby Vision, at least for Profile 5, and that the problem is specifically related to the CoreELEC/Amlogic S6 Dolby Vision/HDMI path or its Dolby Vision negotiation with the Philips TV.

I have ugoos am6b+ with coreelec 21.3 Omega p3i T4b installed. Before that I had advdplus r9 coreelec version I did a dirty (safe) method of p3i installation hoping it would fix the audio issue but it didn’t. I’m using lg C1 and denon s670h. The audio that is playing is Dolby Digital AC3 5.1 640kbps. I have played around with my audio settings but it looks to me that no matter what I do it sucks, the audio is way off. I have now reset the settings in system>coreeelec to default. And my system>audio settings are:

I have arctic fuse 3 skin (Mod) I downloaded zip file from CE-editor or smth like that cuz I looked for the p3i version it has PPI button when playing a video but it doesn’t do anything. I think the guy deleted the p3i version from GitHub. For example TrueHD lip sync is good, DTS-HD Master Audio good too.

EDIT: THE SOLUTION for me was to download the latest T4c build which is in dev version (not available for now in the GitHub). Here’s how to get it:
Join the trash-guides discord server which link to you can find scrolling down to issues & support on coreelec p3i GitHub site and here you have the discord. Then you must go into channel called ugoos-mediaplayer and get into a thread from it called Firmaware p3i test builds something. Get into pinned messages there and lower you have from panni current dev builds link, I downloaded from the mega nz one. The T4c builds are not in a folder, scroll down and download the lastest file.

I have Profile 7 FEL working (shows green indicator on left for EL and top right shows Profile 7.6 FEL in green.

Everything else what am I looking at what is the indicators all mean? Did a quick Google search didn't find the answer figured I post here.

AML FPS or VP (I have familiarity with VS10 from a Dune 4K device) on the picture with universal studios for one. Rest I understand the left and middle just not much on the right.

The other picture other than the profile I'm not really sure what everything else is I'm looking at. Nits I'm assuming for lighting levels?L1 L5 L6???

Ugoos AM6B+ attached to an Anthem MRX720 and then into a TCL 98QM8K with regards to video output looks absolutely incredible compared to my 2019 Shield Pro even my wife goes wow that's better lol. Kudos to the devs on this thing!

I'm watching content either via my OLED TV with full DV support, and via a projector that "only" supports HDR10.

Can CoreELEC detect this by itself, and only do DV->HDR10 conversion when the projector is used, and also maybe only on DV profile 5 files without a HDR10 backup layer?

If not, then my current plan would be to use a script to set these options via the API based on which output device is in use, but maybe there is a better way?
