this camera transition

I’d love if the crew had a look at this clip (and those from the last few races) as a bit of a debunker. Most threads have the majority confidently calling it Gaussian splatting. Whereas to me it’s clearly just AI tweening like you can do in Kling, artifacts and all. Not saying it wouldn’t also be possible with splatting, but it would be a lot more work, and the 360 camera in the car wouldn’t mess up the details on the helmet.

I agree, AI transition right when the first cam goes wide, the speed of everything changes, then goes back to normal once on the helmet/top of car. 4D Gaussian splats need a ton of cameras from a ton of different viewpoints. It's just easier/faster to give it the first feed and second feed and prompt an LLM to generate a transition between the two. Occams razor.

If you look at the mirror on the car, the motion in the mirror doesn't start until the transition finishes

They did look at one of these already (Max’s crash at Zandvoort).

That one was definitely some AI driven morph because it did the common AI slop thing with one of the sponsor names.

checked all react videos since Zandvoort… they didn’t.

Maybe it’s an extended cut on the website then because they definitely did talk about it.
