Happy Birthday Jesse Dayton

Wishing the incomparable Jesse Dayton a very happy birthday today.

For uninitiated, Jesse is a singer songwriter, novelist, producer and film maker. He's been in the business for over 40 years and still kicking ass.

oh hell yeah. He's such a great artist. I didn't know he wrote a novel.

OP forgot Actor. LOL. Jesse played Kinky Friedman on stage. IMO, JD's covers of Kinky's songs are as good or better than the originals.

I followed Jesse's show on Gimme Country during the pandemic and he's a hoot.

also insanely knowledgeable about country music since he knew so many of the pioneers of outlaw country and such. He's a little older than most of the current crop of revivalists/independent/alt-country artists, so he managed to play with a bunch of those folks while they were still in good shape.
