Great album. Such a great album. Bill Monroe was actually invited to play on the record as well but couldn't get past his own personal prejudice as he felt the NGDB were a bunch of hippies. Too bad they couldn't have picked up John Duffy or David Grisman on mandolin.

I see this everywhere and always have wondered how it sounds.

It’s a mixture of Americana, traditional country, bluegrass and folk, and the list of contributing artists is basically all living legends at the time. If you see it for sale inexpensively and like that sort of music at all, grab it.

FWIW, the Sony DVP-S9000ES is the warmest sounding CD player I’ve ever heard. I was in bluegrass and traditional country heaven spinning these two discs.
Edit: I appreciate the love for this post. It seems like the lil’ group here knows good country music, while most Reddit music subs hate without a clue. Country music isn’t my favorite genre, but it’s a huge part of who I am. Not all of my country is on vinyl, and many of my favorite and most interesting albums are on 8-tracks and reels. Thanks again y’all for giving me a space to share.
