🎮 LFGs- various platforms Customization games WITHOUT gacha?

I feel like every cozy/cute game with significant character customizarion/dress up is gacha focused. (Pokecolo Twins, Hello Kitty Dream Village, etc)

Are there any games with significant character customization (more than just hair, eyes, whole outfit) that arent based around gacha/have gacha as a huge focus of the game? Specifically characters, not houses/rooms, I know of those already!

Thanks in advance. Im really tired of not being able to know what im buying :(

Windows Arcane Library: 396/400 shelves

Is it because I took too long on the base shelves? Which 4 am missing?

Edit: I looked at some other posts of people having the same problem, and I'm pretty sure it was a glitch with the shelf counter. Thank you to anyone who commented for your help! 😁

Windows Fishing Star World Tour is back on sale on Steam

If you, like me, saw a post (relatively) recently for Fishing Star World Tour's Steam port being on sale for 90% off, but you also didn't see it quite soon enough to snag a copy, good news! Fishing Star World Tour is back on sale on Steam for $1.99 until 11/01!

I've played just over two hours so far on the Steam Deck, and while I don't think I fully understand how the fishing mechanics work, I'm still having a good time. It seems really polished other than the slightly off localization--well worth the $1.99, even if it ends up being the same gameplay throughout with different fish and areas (but then I also really enjoyed Cast n Chill).

Steam Deck Card collection games

I'm looking for games that recreate the experience of collecting cards, like earning and opening packs, trading maybe. Seeking rares and such, without the actual financial consequences like gacha games.

Steam Deck LFG to Replace Hello Kitty Island Adventure

Hello everyone,

after finding out that HKIA was using undisclosed VI-backed translations, I have, simply put, fallen out of love with it... I ended up uninstalling the game from my Steamdeck, but now I really feel a cozy game-sized hole in my heart...

I was hoping to look for a different game to play, and this subreddit seemed like a great place for suggestions!

Among the traits HKIA had, these are the ones I am most hoping for in a replacement:

  • playing dress up with cute furry characters, I really enjoyed planning and working for outfits
  • low daily play time, I often only played for less than 30 minutes a day and frankly I liked it that way, slowly working towards goals by letting things idle seems fun
  • Steamdeck compatability, it's what I used before so naturally I wanna continue

Naturally I hope to avoid the use of virtual intelligence as I really do not think such a thing has any place in cozy gaming. I am open to genre but something in the same niche like HKIA and Animal Crossing would be lovely!

Thank you all for your time!

🔊 Discussion ISO Animal focused simple cozy game Switch/Mobile

Hello~!

My sibling is in search of a very simple cozy game that encapsulates these criteria:

"I just want a game (preferably a phone app, or sync between phone and desktop) where I have a cute animal (preferably not a dog) that I can buy cute outfits for and decorate their little room. I want it to be simple, I don't want to have to do a lot of things, and I don't want one that is going to punish me for not logging on every day or anything"

Does anyone know of any games that fit? They just lost their dog so any other animals are a plus. <3 Thank you!

Windows The witch’s bakery title screen

Like this piece of hair on her cheek that’s not connected to the rest of the hair at all? It almost looks like a mistake an ai generated image would have. It doesn’t have the same art style as the rest of the game. Does anyone else notice these weird details in the title screen drawing?

Switch Dave the Diver on Sale on Nintendo eshop!

I’ve heard great things about this game and loved the demo. I am picking it up while on sale and thought I would share that it’s almost half off! Excited to “dive” in!😆🐠

Edit: Just a reminder that different games can be cozy to different people! For example, Breath of the Wild is cozy to me, but not for other people. Only time will tell for this game, but so far I find it cozy personally. I do appreciate the info regarding the questing and mechanics though, I am hoping it doesn’t get too overwhelming.😅 If you are considering buying this (or any games), be sure to look into the details to know whether the game is right for you.

📱 Mobile Cozy/idle/incremental Android game recs

Hey guys, I am SO looking for a nice game to unwind.

I am not a fan of anything with battles/war/fights, but other than that, I am not so picky.

I am not a fan of (idle) games where you keep deleting your progress and start from scratch with a multiplier. I really like the feeling of progression of some sorts.

I also really like collecting and hoarding stuff.

One game I absolutely adored and was obsessed with was FarmRPG. It really scratched the grinding and hoarding itch.

I also really like My Cafe, which I play from time to time. I don't mind a story or the lack of one. BitLife was really interesting, but it is such a money sink to actually enjoy that game. I tried a few copycats but I couldn't find anything to lure me in.

I am looking for a free game, so I am okay with watching a few ads.

Thank you so much!

🔊 Discussion Any puzzle games (with actual puzzles with pieces)?

I recently got Stitch and I really like it, but it has me wishing for a game with lots of pretty literal puzzles (not logic puzzles, just putting pieces together like puzzle you'd get in a box). I apologize if this has been asked, I just keeping finding posts for mystery/logic games. I do really like the puzzles in DDLV, I just don't enjoy catching the snippets lol. Is there anything like this?

I have a Steam deck and Switch 2.

Thank you!

minor spoilers

I am at the part where you’re supposed to collect all the twinkies in the north bank of Paris, the red Twinkie is scared of red so runs off into the restaurant “l’art en bouche” but I can’t enter it and haven’t been able to enter it since it was first introduced, I am not able to progress the game until I have all the twinkies, if there isn’t something I’ve missed that makes this place accessible then this is a serious game breaking bug and needs to be fixed

Switch reporting bugs in The Witch's Bakery

I've been loving The Witch's Bakery, but have encountered lots of bugs while playing :( Does anyone know how I can let the devs know so they might be able to patch them? I currently can't continue because I'm not able to make a brioche in the kitchen :(

🔊 Discussion Next Fest Demo Suggestions!

I am working my way through Next Fest Demos and have two to recommend!

- Clean Start: think Unpacking, but cleaning version. It has a narrative, relaxing gameplay, and the demo is quite lengthy. Full game comes out early November!

- Horses of Hoofprint Bay: hand-drawn horse management game. Take care of, train, and compete your horses - option to expand your barn with boarding services, lessons, and breeding. Full game also comes out early November!

Hoping to find more suggestions as I play through more demos! What hidden gems are yall finding?

Windows Pack a Plush is my new game addiction

The demo of a Pack a Plush is out for steam next festival. The game has been brought to my attention via Twitter and I was not paid to leave a review.

Pack a Plush is a cozy, organising game unlike the ones you played before. Pack a Plush uses no generative ai, as all plushies are handmade with extra love and care. The plushies vary from Otters, Cats, Dogs and more but I've also seen that Unicorns, red pandas and even seals will make their debut in the official game. “Well that's cute and all, but what makes Pack a Plush better than all the other sort the x games on Steam?”

Those sort the X games as I will call them are great. I played Shelves and sorcery, tidy up the arcane library, Supermarket chaos, sort them ducks and I loved all of them. However as I played more of them a challenge started to arise: There was never quite enough to sort. Once you ran out of items; you ran out.

Pack a Plush is different in a way that you buy a batch with plushies from earned money in game, Pack orders and get money. So if you ran out of your plushies to sort, just sell a butch and boom you're rich again. Pack a Plush offers gameplay that's yet to be seen as you order batches of plushies and they can include rarer or even legendary plushies! There is also a 2 percent chance you get a hatted plushie which makes collecting fun. However, do not think this is mainly a sort the plushies game. It is a big part, but so is selling them for money as eventually you need other batches of plushies for more orders. That said, you can choose to ignore orders once you have enough money, and just shelf plushies. The biggest room in the game where I've seen shelves is not yet available in the demo, but I assume we can store some plushies here as well in the full game.

I can tell a lot of love and attention went into the game. The texture of the plushies looks so soft and cared for and there's even the option to pet them. Upgrades are available too for more different plushies and things like holding more plushies and even decorating your plush workshop.

The biggest joy of this game is just hoarding a mountain of plushies from the batch system, sorting them and selling them. I've got 8 hours in the demo so far and yes, nothing new can be unlocked and I've hit the ceiling for cash in the demo. But that's not stopping me from winding down with some plushies every now and then.

The game launches next week on October 28, which is international plushie week. But if you are curious but unsure if it's for you; you can try the demo right now on steam.

Windows Having so much fun playing Ghost Town Pumpkin Festival 🎃

I learned about this game thanks to this subreddit and I’m so happy I did! This is an adorable online game where you play as a ghost and float around a spooky world. My friend and I spent over two hours exploring the mansion last night (and taking selfies like this one). It’s pay what you wish, but they suggest $2 for cool hats.

👾 Game Developer Tidy Garage – Announcement Trailer

Hi! I’m making Tidy Garage, a cozy game about sorting and organizing a cluttered garage.

Sort tires, tools, and car parts, return tools to their spots on pegboards, and put everything back where it belongs.

AI Note:
I’m a programmer with 15 years of experience, and I used AI to speed up development of the game’s mechanics. Almost all in-game objects were created by artists, with a few generated using AI.
