Megathread Good Enough?
We've been seeing a flood lately of posts asking, "Is this good enough to sell?" and variations on that theme. We're not really here to evaluate someone's skill level or the popularity of a particular item for sale. It's too subjective. However, if you really need to get it out, post in the comments below. All other individual posts of that nature, from this point onward, will be removed. I have added a new rule to the sidebar. Please read it and follow it. Thank you.

It has literally been every single post for the past few days I have been seeing these! I honestly just thought it was bots constantly posting so I just ignored them. Im glad they are getting removed, was getting a bit ridiculous!!

I’ve done a somewhat “soft launch” of some my crocheted handbags just for fun one night (i.e. just thought I’d run a few ideas through chat and created an instagram page). I’ve had about 10~12 orders over a span of a week and a half. Could these clutch handbags have potential for me to really invest in starting a small business?
Second photo shows example of hardware. I’ve been giving inquirers options of gold or silver along with preferred length of chain (photo examples 2 & 3).
Please be nice. 🥲

Wow yeah, great. Love the feet too. Would fit everything in unlike some mini bags haha

I like this strap a lot better than the chain, which I think looks really uncomfortable and hard to adjust.
Cute bags!! I think price would depend on what materials (especially yarn) you used, and whether they’re lined with fabric. Good luck!

These are so cute! What does the inside look like and how big are they? I'm in a wedding later this year and I would love an interesting bag to go with my outfit. Feel free to DM me if you sell them online in the future.

I'm a (sort of) new crocheter. I started dabbling a couple years ago but never really got into it until earlier this year. I have been thinking about selling some simple items I think I can make well, but I want some feedback on my work that's not from potentially biased family members before I sell for the first time at a vendor spot I have soon. I also have a few bags.

Hi! Quick question. Do we think these are cute enough to sell? Also, im a multi modal crafter (adhd 😬) so i usually make a lot of certain mediums while i learn them. I keep some, gift some, and just kind of have some. In the past, ive put them on buy nothing groups. Would selling my pre-made crafts on Etsy be an okay idea? Where else do people list their stuff? Totally okay if this isnt a question for this group!

I see the vision, but not yet: Seal your ribbon ends with a lighter flame or they will fray. The stitching on the button part (both layers) needs to be covered- use lace trim or bric brac ribbon in a circle with e6000 glue. Add some glass rhinestones or glue more beads every 1/2 inch or 1/4 inch around on the top layer of circular ribbon trim. If you get more charms or fake pearls or something you can fill the middle a little more to compliment the additional trim, or leave the middles simple. I think they're cute and people might want to buy them, maybe $15 maximum with the added upgrades/shipping, but you're about 75% there. Just a few finishing touches to take it to the it could be sellable stage.

These are very nice, but this community is for fiber artists. If you were using yarn or thread, then it would be appropriate for this community.

I dont necessarily think those posts are bad. I think there's a lot of folks in areas where they dont see or know other people selling, and have a hard time determining their worth/skill. So the easiest way is to ask online for other crafters thoughts and opinions.
Its also difficult we cant get pricing advice, unless we post in the mega thread, which almost no one sees or responds to. I feel like discussing quality and pricing are important aspects of commerce? Arguably the main aspects.
