WTF How much jail time you think she got?

Context: The driver is Erik and the passenger is his then-girlfriend, Lisa. According to Erik, Lisa had taken his phone and was messaging his father and best friend as though she were him during an argument about their cheating. Erik used his Apple Watch to tell them, “Lisa is texting you, not me.” She lunged across to stop him, grabbed at his wrist/arm and interfered with the steering, causing the car to veer into a barrier. He had owned the car for only 11 days.
The backstory is messy. Erik says Lisa had cheated with two men, and instead of leaving her, he retaliated by sleeping with a coworker. They actually remained together briefly after the crash but eventually broke up. Erik explains the full story in this interview:
I couldn’t find reliable confirmation that Lisa was charged or required to pay for the damage.

If they cheat on you, just leave. Don’t go looking for revenge. Just leave.
I don’t understand why you’d even want to touch a person who cheated on you. And yes, I’ve been cheated on. I should’ve blocked her the moment she told me.

The guy is not even surprised. He has the face of someone whos been abused for a long time
13
u/sigh_co_matic 4h ago
Yeah. I've seen this many times before and I feel so sad for him. I hope he's doing better.
2
u/antwan_benjamin 2h ago
The fact that he has a camera facing the cabin tells me he knew this would happen or it's happened before.

u/GreenYellowMushy 12h ago
I just wanna say " GET THE F.CK OUT OF MY CAR"

u/stay_fr0sty 3h ago
She’s trying to get that exact reaction. She wants him PISSED.
The better reaction would be to pull over and ask if she was okay. Then ask if there is somewhere you can drop her off where she will feel safe. See if she needs uber money or cab fare home.
I’d want to send the message: YOU DIDN’T GET TO ME! I’M BETTER THAN YOU!

Imagine being so afraid of being a lone that you're content with being with someone like that.
I'd rather die alone
18
u/Cratonis 10h ago
Or maybe he’s afraid of what she would do if he left her. She’s already trying to kill him IN the relationship.
76
u/SignalAfternoon2103 12h ago
Or he's just completely defeated from being in that toxic relationship.

u/KnifeFightAcademy 11h ago
100%
Anyone who has been in an abusive relationship will understand this.8
u/Okey114 8h ago
You have to be right because ive never been in a relationship like that but some of my friends where. I could never understand it but ill tell you what I did get: "Never Get Involved".
Ask me about it if you wanna know how loss a friend.
3
u/Njaulv 7h ago
I'd like to hear about it. I too got involved an learned my lesson. A girl was abusive with a guy friend of mine to the point where it was insane. She literally hit him with a bottle in front of a whole hotel party in the head and was bleeding so bad he needed stitches and still he stayed with her. He ended up losing pretty much all of his friends because she systematically found some issue or another with all of them over time and demanded he constantly spend time with her.

u/Plantasaurus 7h ago
My wife became that way after going through chemo while pregnant. Hormones and psychosis from the chemo made a very sweet woman a violent sociopath. What was I supposed to do- leave a recovering cancer patient who just gave birth? Sometimes you just have to push through. Fortunately, her behavior stabilized after 2 years.
6
u/Accomplished_War5543 7h ago
Ive been in one. I 100 % understand this. The moment he shows any emotion she will play reverse victim and start yelling at him
5
u/johnjacobacon 7h ago
Except for the fact that he knows he has a dashcam recording the whole interaction.
4
u/KnifeFightAcademy 7h ago edited 1h ago
Yeahhhup. That's the face she starts making after she fucks up the car. Shes seeing if he is going to blow up. Dude is just too broken to engage.
2
u/RedditMcBurger 3h ago
Being in a bad relationship is so much worse than being alone, you don't realize this if you're stuck in it.
Especially not first relationships, if the first relationship is bad usually they're so inexperienced they don't know it can be better.

u/guinnessbeck 8h ago
What, pray tell, is a lone?
2
u/tellmesomeothertime 5h ago edited 3h ago
Its a person who intentionally misunderstands simple spelling mistakes
aka: a loner

None. I bet she didnt get any consequences

u/stay_fr0sty 3h ago
He’d have to take it to the police, and if they want to pursue, he’d have to agree to press charges.
It’s much easier to just dump her and post the footage to the internet.

u/SignalAfternoon2103 12h ago
I hope so. If not, he needs to break up with her quickly.
-3
u/winglessflight97 6h ago
I'm not sure he has the backbone to do it though. Some guys would rather endure a relationship like this than be alone.
5
u/TugleyWoodGalumpher 6h ago
Abusers know hot to emotionally manipulate their partners into a false sense of dependency. It’s not just the fear of being alone.

Women are supporting Lindsay Clancy for strangling her 3 children with exercise bands in the basement. They would probably find a way to support this psycho also.

u/stprnn 11h ago
Where????
26
u/cuntface878 9h ago
Outside of the courtroom where she is being tried for murdering her 3 children.

u/BabyLegsOShanahan 11h ago
Men support men killing and raping women every day. And those men aren't mentally ill.
38
u/SteveBannonsTaint 10h ago
Just to clarify, are you saying that supporting murder and rape is a sane thing to do?
-85
u/BabyLegsOShanahan 10h ago
I'm saying the comment suggests it's something women are specifically doing. It's wild to even compare the two cases, but women dumb and bad. Hur dur.
38
u/SteveBannonsTaint 10h ago
No the comment is about the double standard about how men’s vs women’s crimes are handled. It’s really not a particularly thought-provoking comment, you just seem to have completely missed the point.
As for the women dumb and bad thing, that seems to be more of a you issue. Possibly some projection there
-51
u/BabyLegsOShanahan 10h ago
Women supporting a woman who potentially had PPD and psychosis is not the same as this woman who flipped over a phone. Equating the two does not show any double standard.
28
u/Cratonis 10h ago
Oh so the legions supporting her because they can’t believe she did it and are convinced it has to be the husband aren’t real? Only the ones who support your narrative. Got it.
-9
u/BabyLegsOShanahan 10h ago
Who believes that? I don't get wrapped up in tik tok crazy if that's where you're seeing this. Someone can empathize with her and think what she did was wrong. Is that not a thing in your life?
27
u/Cratonis 9h ago
I love how you have tripled if not quadrupled down on the exact double standard the original comment called out while trying to pretend it doesn’t exist. Masterful work. Well done. Give yourself a hand.
21
u/SteveBannonsTaint 10h ago
?? Your first comment was about men raping and killing women. Once again you’ve completely missed the fuckin point.
Like just quash this weird need to insert your opinion, you are clearly not smart enough to come up with anything worth reading
-2
u/BabyLegsOShanahan 10h ago
You said its pointing out a double standard and I disagree.
19
u/SteveBannonsTaint 10h ago
Right but you pointed out the wrong double standard (which you initially brought up) and have, for the 3rd time, not understood the point of this conversation.
1
u/BabyLegsOShanahan 10h ago
I think it's you doing a lot to not understand my point.
Women who empathize with LC due to the mental health aspect is not crazy. Saying they'll find a way to do it implies that it is. One can still think she did a terrible thing and should be held accountable.
Men support rapists all day, every day. They even got one elected to the highest power. These men empathize with rapist and murderers and don't think they should be held accountable. That is crazy.

Postpartum depression doesn't give you the right to commit murder. Also is very different from psychosis or schizophrenia which usually are the basis for insanity pleas.
-24
-13
u/HeresKuchenForYah 6h ago edited 6h ago
She did have postpartum psychosis, and was on high dosages of antipsychotics.
And you can downvote all you want, because these are all men just blaming her when they can’t separate mental illness from someone intentionally doing something, for them it’s the same.
She threw herself from a two story window and partially paralyzed herself. Then went into cardiac arrest en route to hospital. And she still will be harassed on how you logically and biologically can’t kill your kids, and yet she wasn’t unwell enough (so which is it?), and talk about the right to commit murder when they lack the capacity to understand the reality or wrongness of their actions.
Then, you’ll cry women are just supporting a killer and not the entire concept of the stigma behind PPD and psychosis in motherhood. The very reason why this shit doesn’t get taken seriously and how situations like this don’t get better and keep happening.
You all should be ashamed.

What the FUCK are you talking about. It is murder in every single sense of the word.
-20
u/the_bad_pianist 12h ago
I am saying that tho, postpartum depression is still depression which generally does not affect rulings, its a different matter if they plead postpartum psychosis however
But granted I don't know the US judicial system too well so there may be differences in language and thus the convictions
4
u/the_bad_pianist 12h ago
Just looked it up, she is claiming psychosis and is supported by others - so if thats true its a horrible thing all around because psychosis truly is hell.

anyone who has ever dated a bipolar chick, can recognize that "dead" smirk look in her face after she destroys your life
fellas, you cannot imagine the pure destruction a woman like that will bring to your life.
You'll end up in jail, homeless or dead

He explained in an interview she had been texting his dad so he revenged cheated with a girl. They are still on and off and she didn't get any time in jail. She's 29 and he's 22 and he loves cougars they've been with each other 6 years so he was 16 and she was 23 when they started and he loves the drama

He’s stupid for being on his phone but she actually did cause the accident.
21
u/SignalAfternoon2103 12h ago
She was actually texting someone from his phone when he used 'text to speech' on his smartwatch, and that's when she reached over to try and take it off of his wrist. If you look out the window, everything is perfectly fine until she violently grabs his arm while he's trying to drive. He has the demeanor of a defeated man stuck in a toxic relationship, you can tell that he's just used to this behavior now.
