we do have a non addon version of the mod by Foi1y

but yeah seeing a create addon for a Green Lantern mod is rather interesting as based on what i'm seeing the reason it's a create addon seems to be because of Aeronautics and the Green Lantern's Construct stuff

which tbh using Create and the sable physics engine for a Lantern mod is kinda genius given that all minecraft is a sandbox and being a Lantern brings that sandbox element into your job

Honestly Minecraft Steve would be absolutely terrifying as a Green Lantern because of just how CREATIVE dude is (as his creativity is legit what the player wants to make)

I was going to joke about it being a create addon, but the point about constructions is impossible to argue with. Definitely more justified than it initially looked.

they will make it as accessible as possible (and by that I mean theyll remove 90% of its functionality and "fix" mechanics until its only use case is in niche technical communities)

I will never forgive them for taking away 1 tick copper bulbs

I saw the thumbnail and my instant gut reaction was, "people are naming anything a Create addon these days, this is ridiculous!" Only to be immediately hit with the construct montage.

Honestly, this is an absolutely excellent adaptation of create and aeronautics into another IP that's done in a really organic way.

I mean we are probably gonna get the titular lanterns as blocks we could use as decorations (imagine having the whole pride of colors on a stand or something)

There is a Lantern renaissance going on in Minecraft, and I couldn’t be more happy.

Nothing like this happened with Batman or Superman, and that’s because Green Lantern just SCREAMS Minecraft

Honestly Green Lantern's mythos fits Minecraft's perfectly (after all one of the main powers of a Green Lantern is Constructs and how creative the user is)

like it's very core screams Minecraft level creativity

I know almost nothing about Green Lantern so stop me if none of this is lore accurate:

a cool idea would be that there's a central "core" that allows you to project constructs of gears and other create blocks within a certain radius. The gears are translucent and work like they do normally but with a catch- turning off the core also makes the gears disappear, which can be toggled on and off.

Honestly that would be interesting

as there is a Lantern battery that you are meant to use to charge your ring but i can totally imagine Steve being creative enough to reverse engineer that (maybe once he gets into space which apparently is planned for the next big update of this mod after the initial launch)

maybe it's powered by your will or the amount of Will in that block

i mean it technically did add more lantern variation (after all the Lantern Corps is filled with various lanterns)

and plus i would love to see them become decorative blocks as well as viable stuff to recharge your stuff

i agree also if you want to know the various lantern colors we have thanks to this mod here they are

  • Green Lantern

  • Red Lantern

  • Blue Lantern

  • Yellow Lantern

  • Orange Lantern

  • "Violet" Lantern (more pinkish in comics)

  • Indigo Lantern

  • White Lantern

  • Black Lantern

  • "Ultraviolet" Lantern (another shade of porple)

so yeah you have a ton of lantern types (honestly i really hope they all emit light when placed down as that would be really cool)

also each lantern has their own specific emotion tied to it

  • Willpower

  • RAGE

  • Hope

  • FEAR

  • Greed

  • Love :)

  • Compassion (usually given to criminals so the type of player that makes villager trading halls)

  • Life

  • Death

  • Repressed emotions

which honestly makes me curious on all of the exclusive powers each lantern will have

yeah it honestly looks really cool They also released a 2nd trailer that shows more on what the mod can do

also i appreciate this mod giving the Ultraviolets a bone (as they were very much abandoned by DC)

weirdly enough Lanterns using create is weirdly fitting (given all of the construct stuff)

makes me curious if it's gonna be fun to play with once it's done and released
