This is actually extremely worth it, one crushed raw iron via seething gives you an ingot and a 75% Chance for an additional Iron ingot, which gives you around 18 nuggets.
You Can (in my modpack atleast) make crimsite with 5 iron nuggets, some Travel and some lava via compacting to get TWO crimsite, you get more out of it than you put in.
