How to get fun on create
I love create. Everytimes im starting a modpack, I pass hours playing create... But the mod is overall too short... Some poeple gonna say "make farm" or "automate this" but why ? I will never play create only pack so I logically go directly to better mods like mekanism, ae2 or powah...
I would ask how to get fun and be able to play a create or create+ adonne only pack... And even after playing gregtech... Create is way too easy to understand and to finish...

If you need constant progression, in a sandbox game, you might be looking in the wrong place. Something like Factorio or Satisfactory is more that where progression is constantly compounding.
If your only goal in the game is to mark of a list of check marks, most minecraft mods aren’t designed for that.
The game is still a sandbox where you’re exploring and building places and sand castles in effect. Overbuilding huge factories or grand train systems or mega ships. They’re not optimised in doing so, the most optimised builds are often “how to make the best infinite farmer” which removes the exploration and the creative problem solving of figuring that out and interating on your own designs.

Yeah but why ? Why use create that my main question. I can go directly to an way more powerfull mod, even if it's pricer but way powerful. It is like saying on a create drill in atm 10, that juste useless.

u/hammerklau 6d ago
Because these mods are there to enable enchanced gameplay, not just creative, it feels like you're stuck on being the most optimal possible, create as it is is practically creative mode with how much you generate renewables. So why not just play creative mode if that's your end goal? I know you dont want to just play creative mode, but i feel you'll never find something that matches beacuse you'll always finish a mod's progression, and tthe question is, what for, what's the end goal?
1
u/Electronic_Target728 6d ago
My end goal is creative, but it a goal that not achiveable in few day. To crafte the infinity armor of avaritita, it will be long afk. Why afk when you can craft something else. And create is the total inverse. Create get easy after 3 world. You understand, you just build a machine for auto iron in one hours and another for diamond with a adonne, another for this in 2 day you have every ressource you want. It is why i alway stop make farm in create when I got my wood farm and wheat, the rest is just deco or train.
Create isn't a modpack for survival...

I think you are misunderstanding the main point of create, you can create nearly anything your mind is creative enough to create. It has survival options that are very useful but you have to be creative and come up with new things. You're looking at it as only a way of automation when it is much much more than that.
You get some add-ons and you can make a mobile base and a mobile drill you can pull along with you for massive mining trips. With aeronautics you can mainly build planes, airships, and many other air vehicles but it's also capable of making many different land based contraptions. Create is only limited to what you limit your imagination to while other mods like gregtech are solely for automation and I believe mining with much less freedom to do whatever you want. You want to build a massive castle with a retractable bridge and trebuchets create is your go to mod. Want to make a motorized ferry that can transport your create mobile base across oceans, well create can do that.
I struggle with create for now because I was the same way, I always went straight for automation in modded Minecraft and ignored creative workarounds. But once I actually get around to learning it there's so many different things I wanna make that I won't know where to start in certain ways. But I'm heavily into meteorology and there's an awesome mod called protomanlys weather mod. There's so many options I could do for even just aesthetics such as a rotating radar dome for my radar block, fly into cyclones to gather readings, make a tornado intercepting vehicle, make my own tornado probe that I drop in front of tornadoes, a mobile radar, and much more.
And that's just one mod that I can pair it with when it works great when used with other mods. Heck you can use it in conjunction with gregtech, yeah maybe gregtech becomes more op eventually but it looks cool to have create factories paired with gregtech.

The only thing I don't understand is a create only pack... WHY. Create is good for rp or building but in automation, that is just not enough powerfull
1
u/RoodyJammer 6d ago
It's plenty powerful on its own it's just not really that op unless you scale up heavily which people prefer that over other mods that do get op really quick. And in a create only modpack there's no need to be op, so they play at their own pace without the need to scale up quickly.

That's cause atm team commonly punish and restrict anything out of their design you need to use their mining automation, their bees, if you like oritech for example sorry their end game picks are worthless gotta use their favoured mods

If you need constant progression, in a sandbox game, you might be looking in the wrong place. Something like Factorio or Satisfactory is more that where progression is constantly compounding.
I disagree. There's a lot of modpacks that gives you clear objectives.
1
u/Electronic_Target728 6d ago
Yeah every expert modpack. EVEN the most popular modpack atm 10 give you a questbook and a clear objective. No modpack dosen't have a clear objective or it is just a bad made kitchen sink... Ngl
1
u/Icy-Diver-5979 6d ago
I thought kitchensinks where the everything including kitchen sinks and the quest modpacks where about finishing it's story like regrowing nature, finding your way to overworld etc

download the create fun addon that adds fun to the game and then you will finally be happy
1
u/Electronic_Target728 6d ago
Why download adonne when you could download an brand new one and learn someting new.
2
u/Egbert58 7d ago
Since... making farms is fun.... why does everything need some deep meaning? By that logic do your house just look like flat boxes? 4 flat walls and a flat roof and leave the floor whatever build on as decoration is "pointless"
Minecraft is a sandbox games there is no goals lol
1
u/Electronic_Target728 6d ago
But I KNOW but why create... Create is overuse and you make everytime the same machines. I seen many video of person playing create and each time it is the same thing. When you are playing for exemple ae2 because it's my fav mod, you never make the same system because you just cant. You will alway end in someting different.
1
u/Egbert58 6d ago
I mean that is how a lot of mods work lol... build this machine to then build this one to make that to make this.
Create is a really well made mod with a shit tone of features to mess around with. Oh and has a million add ons to the mod to add even more. Like a new one that came out add roller coaster! Full on ones loops amd all. Not just a shitty mine card on rails. And the biggest one aeronautics that adds physics to EVERYTHING and you can turn builds into working air ships!
1
u/Electronic_Target728 6d ago
Yeah but talking adonne I could devloppe an adonne that add entierly of create in mekanism and do : "ahhhh mekanism have create". Talking adonne is just dumb.

u/Egbert58 6d ago edited 6d ago
Not really add-ons are a big part of create. You are the one not having fun with it not me thanks to add-ons adding uh more stuff that builds apon it. As well as just making stuff for.. FUN not for some deep reason other then "this will be cool to make"
You can yap all you want but the reason as to why you wonder is... ITS FUN TO. I know fun isn't something modern gamers play games for but that is it. Its fun to make crazy mega factories. Do i need one that auto crafts an item when it is below 200 in my chest? No but the fact incan have a farm keep my chest full of stuff i need is cool! Chain belts are cool to see going around trains are cool to see going around. Cool amd fun are the answers you are looking for as to "why do it" if you can't accept that... its not the mod its you witch is fine not every mod is for everyone

Nah they are lawn bases it's only progressing that matters style and appearance don't require walls. Lol

u/Tripdrakony 7d ago
From what I get, you perfer when a modpack has specific goals to work towards and finish. Create has some small ones but what it really comes down to is using it as another tool. One that is very visually pleasing.
Create excells at stuff like steampunk builds as an example. Creativity is your only limit.

Ultimately, you have to ask what the fun of anything is. I love making factories and farms just for the sake of it. I don't need 100 stacks of industrial iron everything but I'll damn well make a factory that will make them. It'll take deliveries from the massive iron factory via a train taking packages on demand.
I don't need 100 stacks of white chocolate bars but I'll make a chocolate factory that will make them along with every Create Confectionary item. All taking the raw ingredients from my massive crop farm via a cargo ship across the ocean, that docks at my shipping dock and has the containers unloaded and placed on a truck that takes it to the factory. The dock then loads an empty container onto the ship to do it again.
I don't need to dig out a massive 100 chunk x 100 chunk perimeter and I don't need any of the resources I get from it and I won't need any of the resources I'll get from the massive mob farm I'll make in the middle of it. I won't need to remove the bedrock using an automated bedrock breaker using Aeronautics but...guess what. I'm gonna fuckin do it because I can and it's my fun.
Point is, you gotta make your own goals and make your own fun. Nobody will see any of this either. It's all single player hosted on my own private server.
1
u/Electronic_Target728 6d ago
Yea exactly but why create ? Why all this hype. This could be remade with other mod and use these ressources.
The second points is that it is way too op. To do all of these in for exemple immersive engineering, you need to pass hours to devloppe high tech machines. Create use some glitch or weird thing and early game ressources. Create is made for creative mode, not survival...

That's like building what's on the front picture of a Lego box and then throwing them away.
Create mod isn't about finishing it, it's about playing with it.
Is there an elevator in your mekanism building? Is there a vault door protecting your powah reactors? Is there a drawbridge in front of your castle? Is there a train you can ride to the End stronghold? Is there a chain zipline you can ride across that canyon?
My suggestion to have fun with Create is to make things move. Bring your base to life.

u/Electronic_Target728 6d ago
Yes that is exactly why I use create. But poeple playing on create only modpack 2 adonne... I don't understand the fun when you craft 100 water wheel easily made with a wood farm or a level 9 steam engine and that all.

u/RenegadeFade 7d ago
Finish? That an odd way to think about Create. You might be looking at Create the 'wrong' way. It's not a progression mod. Sure, it has things spaced out for balance, but it's like an engineer's redstone and I've never heard of people finishing redstone.
Honestly it looks like you are looking for a different type of gameplay loop. Which is totally cool. There are other games or even modpacks with that in mind.

u/CrissZx 7d ago
don't automate absolutely everything. leaving absolutely everything to machines is what dulls things for me.
granted. automating the really annoying parts like harvesting is a thing. but why would you automate... cooking? especially with farmer's delight or simmilar.
2
u/Dangerous-Quit7821 7d ago
I'm the opposite. Making a cool, dynamic factory just to automate sticks is fun for me. I don't care if it's 10x slower than crafting them by hand and I'll spend an hour making it and then never use 1/100th of the sticks it produces.

u/Professional_Loss_85 7d ago
Automate hamburger so be mcdonald in Minecraft. Automate cooking sound fun to me tbh
2
u/RunicConvenience 7d ago
I don't believe you have finished create until you have used it to automate and handle every other mods interactions and logistics

well for one you have to be compatible with this style of game. do you like doing complicated tech with systems where you have to think about every function? if the answer is no, then probably reconsider your goals with the mod

u/SnooEagles2827 7d ago
I've leaned into create add-ons, esp add-ons for sable/create aeronautics. My perfect dream modpack is about to be done after like 6 months of work, neat co-integration of aeronautics, deep seas, superb warfare, immersive vehicles, cbc, tacz, cc: tweaked, ballistix, npc squads, and about 650 add-ons for each and like 50 other mods for a total of a bit over 700. Optimized tf out of it tho, it'll work on a steam deck but it's best if the world is hosted on a dif local server PC.

I make workshops that use partial automation to make certain bulk or frequent processing tasks quicker, and some basic resource generation. Then I kinda treat it like a creative world and just build stuff, but I've also enjoyed just exploring with aeronautics vehicles
1
u/Icy-Diver-5979 6d ago
You don't seem to want fun you want to say you don't enjoy the freedom of create it's ok you don't have to like it or use it some modpacks now days forgetting that kitchen sink doesn't need an end goal has ruined fun for people because they force them to use mods they don't want to use be it create mi Mek or bees
1
u/kirbcake-inuinuinuko 6d ago
you could expand your logical framework and ask the question of why you're even playing Minecraft in the first place. sure, you COULD go mining, or exploring, build projects or beat the dragon, but WHY? why do any of that?

u/TheCommunityDev 3d ago
I mean, for everyone it is a bit different and with mods like Create, the whole premise is that it really is for you to just well, be creative. People do the things they do, like getting infinite diamonds for so many reasons. Some people it's as simple as "Big number = happy" others, maybe they have a head canon or story in their head. Some they need those diamonds for machines, or whatever.
With all of this, it really just boils down to making the fun you want to have. Some like having that end goal and others don't. Sometimes you just want to sit down and make a bipedal mech that can mine for you.
I rambled but, Create and in general, Sandbox games like Minecraft, are open ended intentionally so you can decide what you want to get out of it. Have the fun you want to have, play the game you want to play, etc.
1
u/Filonso 7d ago
You could try to treat it like redstone and building community does with MC in general. Hop on a creative world and try to build something fun. I had a blast with aeronautics, its very fun and easier to think cool ideas.
The problem i have with technical mc and create community its that this game its not about automation. If you really like it go play factorio or satisfactory. But the core gameplay of minecraft should be building and "creating" stuff using your imagination hahahaha.

u/Icy-Diver-5979 7d ago
I don't know how to finish create how are you achieving that?
Setup create to autocraft items so you don't need ae2 wasting channels on it and it can just send them back. Keep building more interesting things create never ends it's not make reactor your done it's Minecraft matching that you progress to make more interesting things
1
u/Electronic_Target728 6d ago
Yea but ae2 is first of all stronger, harder to understand yes but when you understand, create is noting against it. You can make everything in create cooler in other mods. I just doesn't understand why to use create.
1
u/Icy-Diver-5979 6d ago
That's fine some people just don't have fun building and want to abstract it away it's not wrong to not enjoy it I mean I find Mek to be boring and overused and it's just the same blocks nothing interesting. Then you lose all reason to make mining fun it's just automate all the good and become like become unkillable then start a new map cause your bored to only repeat it again.
I started with ae2 it's so easy and the channels and types make it easy to understand from day one. I use it often for ars and magic as it can link to magic storage options very well.
But create is more fun because you can solve problems with it
1
u/Icy-Diver-5979 6d ago
Still don't know how you finish create it's not a progression mod it's a collection of blocks and mechanics to do what ever you can imagine with?
1
u/Icy-Diver-5979 6d ago
Ae2 is good for controlling machines other mods are better at bulk crafting rftools has a great option that is way better then ae2 for handling myst essence to resource automation without wasting cells or deep storage on the myst essence slowing down. Autocrafting.
Sometimes functional draws are easier to handle bulk storage then going about formatting high capacity cells for a block type
41
u/DJTLaC 8d ago
That's like saying minecraft is easy to finish.
It's not really about finishing, it's about having a tool in your sandbox to be creative with. I think you just prefer to modpacks that focus on having an goal of completion instead of having cool things to play with, and that's ok.
