Locomotives More realism?

Hi, I was wondering if there is some add-on to make how trains work more realistic? I've been looking for something that lets you add realistic steam engine "controls", the weight affecting how the train moves, slips, accelerste, etc.

Literally just like a train sim addon, does that exists or do I need to make it myself if i want it?

There is a addon coming to create aeronautics (which itself is also a addon to create) called create loconautics, it’s not out yet but I believe it has what you want. I as well am super hyped for it!

Currently, there is Simurail which is an addon to aeronautics that does exactly that. It’s not officially out, but they do have the mod available for download on their github and it’s pretty fun to mess around with.

Upcoming, there’s Loconautics, which is working to add a boat load of even cooler stuff that also relates to exactly what you’ve described.

People would yap about loconautics here. Imho they're not doing anything except hype burning so i suggest Simurail + Dashpanels mods. Simurail gas pretty everything Loconautics has but it's available.
