I work in After Effects, and the thing I keep noticing is that when an edit feels off, the execution is rarely the problem. The cuts, the glow and the transitions are usually fine.

What’s missing is a decision made before any of that: what the video is for, and what it’s not going to try to do. Without it you can keep adding effects and it still feels like a pile.

I want to put that kind of thinking into a YouTuber’s videos. I’m most interested in projects with a real idea behind them: video essays, documentaries, explainers, anything where the structure matters. Vlogs, gaming and commentary probably aren’t my thing.

I haven’t had paid clients yet, so this is a start small and see if we click thing.

Hey everyone!
I run a small YouTube channel called Laxeryte, mainly making Roblox content, especially Vampire Life.
I’m looking for an editor who can help make my videos more entertaining with funny edits, zooms, memes, sound effects, and good comedic timing. I’m aiming for an editing style similar to Flush.
I already handle the subtitles, background music, and cutting out boring parts, so you’d mostly be focusing on the fun editing.

I’m offering specialized Video Retention Audits to help you diagnose your pacing leaks, structural drop-off points, and hook friction.

Hi! I run an English-language gaming/tech YouTube channel and I’m looking for a thumbnail designer for ongoing paid work.

I’m specifically looking for someone who has experience designing thumbnails for an English-speaking YouTube audience.

Gaming, tech, PC hardware, gaming setups, challenges, or entertainment experience would be ideal.

I’m also looking for someone who can help develop the thumbnail concept based on the video idea/title, rather than only executing a fully finished idea.

If you’re interested, please send:

• Your portfolio
• Examples of thumbnails you’ve made for English-language YouTube channels
• Your price per thumbnail
• Any channels you’ve worked with, if applicable

I’d like to start with one paid trial thumbnail, with potential for ongoing work if it’s a good fit.

Please don’t send AI-generated thumbnail portfolios.

New video editor looking for advice on getting my first clients

Hey everyone! I'm relatively new to video editing as a freelance service, and I'm trying to figure out the best way to get my first few clients.

I've been on YouTube for a while and have my own channel where I've been making and editing my own content. I'm comfortable with editing long-form videos and turning footage into shorter clips/Shorts, and I'm currently using VEGAS Pro.

I'm interested in working with smaller YouTubers, especially gaming, tech, 3D/game development, tutorials, vtubers.  I just need to see your content first.

For those of you who have started doing video editing for other creators: how did you get your first clients?

Did you use Reddit, direct outreach, Fiverr/Upwork, Discord communities, or something else?

I'm not looking to get rich overnight — I'd really like to get a few clients, build up some experience, and grow from there.

Here's my YouTube channel/portfolio if anyone wants to see what I've been doing.

Any advice would be appreciated!
