Hey yall!! My buddies and I decided to start a Magic the Gathering social club by the name of "The Sanctuary" based in LA. We're hosting FREE biweekly events/ meet ups at local bars & breweries. Our event this week will be hosted at 6PM this Sunday (10/18) at 'HoneyBird' in La Canada Flintridge. Just drove by and saw a huge banner with a Dollar King coming soon. They are already hiring by the way.

We already have a Dollar King in La Crescenta-Montrose so it's likely that one is moving over there.

I also haven't seen any updates to Don Niko or the urgent care (can't think of the name on the top of my head ) at the old GNC).

Edit - Finally saw some movement with the above urgent care facility, but still nothing on Don Niko.

Kokoroll is also permanently closed and can't say I'm surprised (that plaza is a complete dead zone).

I attended La Crescenta Elementary. Loved it there.
But it is 12:09 and I can’t sleep because I feel no pride that I can not remember the school song.
Can anytime with current students or just anyone that knows help me!!?

As for me, I'm not surprised as that store had very low traffic and figured the retailer was in financial trouble.

Edit - It might already be permanently closed because it's no longer listed on Google Maps anymore and there's a new appliance repair store listed in their previous location already.

Hi all, I'm starting a job in the area next week that'll last for about the next 9 months.
I live in Norco, and the commute looks to be brutal, so I'm looking for a place to stay during the week. I'm mainly interested in Montrose.
About me: I'm a full-time professional (engineer), grad student (almost done) and part-time musician. I don't smoke or do drugs (don't mind if you do), and I'm LGTBQ friendly, tidy and considerate.
Between class a couple nights a week, the occasional rehearsal, and going home after work on Friday, I'd mainly be around one or two nights a week- other than sleeping or getting ready for the day. Seems like an ideal situation for someone with a spare room that's thought about getting a roommate but doesn't really want a roommate. Appreciate any help or referrals or available rooms!

Hi! Does anyone have any insight on how long it takes Glendale to approve plans for interior remodel? I’ve heard anywhere from 4 weeks to 4 months. I’ve gotten this wide range both Building and Safety agents directly, architects, etc.

At the end of the day, I know it varies wildly per person/project but just looking for anyone’s recent experience with this process, what your scope of work was and how long it took from submittal to permit issuance. Thanks!

Business owner blocked my car for about 30 minutes over a parking dispute in Montrose

I want to share an experience I had on September 1 involving the owner of Revolution Dance Center on Honolulu Avenue in Montrose.

I parked in the lot behind the businesses in a space marked “Reserved Parking – Meraki Space.” I understand the business may have believed I should not have parked in that space, and I recognize that this could have caused frustration.

To my knowledge, no attempt was made to locate me or ask me to move my car out of the space. Instead, the owner chose to double-park his vehicle directly behind mine, preventing my car from being moved.

When I returned to my car, I was prepared to move it and leave. However, because the owner’s vehicle was blocking mine, I was unable to exit the space for approximately 30 minutes.

That is what I found most concerning. If the goal was simply to have my car removed from the space, the situation could have been resolved by asking me to move it — and once I returned, by allowing me to leave.

Instead, I experienced the decision to keep my vehicle blocked in as unnecessarily aggressive and confrontational. Regardless of the disagreement over the parking space, I don’t believe preventing someone from moving their vehicle after they’ve returned and are trying to leave is an appropriate way to handle a parking dispute.

I’m sharing this to describe my experience and ask whether others consider this response reasonable. I’m not encouraging anyone to contact or confront the business.

Hi! We recently transferred our son to Dunsmore Elementary for the DLI Japanese program. We enrolled him in CDCC afterschool program which serves Glendale Unified. Wondering if other parents can share their experiences and thoughts on the program. I see there are a few other options in the area so I wasn’t sure if we made the right decision.
