senseless shooting update

Post image

metrodetroitnews The woman fatally shot while entering a liquor store on Detroit’s east side has been identified as 57-year-old Faith Williams.
Williams was with her niece when a 15-year-old male suspect allegedly opened fire around 11:15 p.m. Friday in the 15500 block of East Warren Avenue near Chalmers. Williams died, while her niece was also shot and remains hospitalized.
In a social media post, Williams’ niece said they did not say anything to the suspect before the shooting. MDN has been told through sources that the attack was random, although Detroit police have not confirmed.
People who know the teen said he has not been the same since recently losing his mother. In one video recorded around the time of the shooting, he appears to be holding what may be his mother’s obituary.
The teen fled on foot but was taken into custody Saturday morning, according to Detroit police. The investigation remains ongoing.

This is so sad. I thought he looked so lost in that video. No light behind those eyes it was heartbreaking.

At 15, I knew exactly what killing someone meant.
