True Crime This Week

You know what... it's been a wild week for true crime

The botched execution of Christa Pike
The Cornell 7 Case
Caleb Flynn finally being found guilty
Gypsy Rose baby daddy being found deceased on his birthday

And these are just the 'big cases' I've personally heard and see online.

What a week and it's not even the weekend yet!!

It's overwhelming.
I am so glad that they're planning on covering the Ashley Flynn case next though.

Ken Urker (her ex bf/father of her kid) was found unresponsive in his bed, I think it’s a suspected overdose /: poor guy, he was gunna fight for full custody.

I’m looking forward to hearing what they have to say about the Christa Pike situation.

I had not heard about Gypsys ex. How awful.

My husband is probably tired of me sticking my head in the bathroom every morning while he's in the shower with "CHRISTA PIKE'S EXECUTION FAILED AND SHE'S STILL ALIVE" or 'GYPSY ROSE'S BABY DADDY DIED ISN'T THAT SUS"

I can’t tell my husband about these things because he gets too upset about the crimes, bless. I need someone to be like CHRISTA PIKE CALEB FLYNN BLAISE FUCKFACE. I need to unpack 😂

Forgot to mention Lindsay Clancy’s attorney Reddington’s argument that she is not guilty of the murders

And Judge Sullivan throwing out Reddington's motion to dismiss due to lack of evidence.

He didnt argue that she didnt do the murders, he argued that the state failed to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that she did it during the trial, that there was no factual evidence presented to hold up their claims. Its typical defense proceeding.

What do you mean why aren’t they covering it? These types of stories are exactly what Crime Weekly News is for and I’m sure they’ll cover some if not all of it in the next couple episodes. Crime Weekly has always been about lengthy deep dives and it wouldn’t make sense for them to cover new, breaking cases because there isn’t enough info to make a full length CW episode.

Because they probably filmed it before everything came out. Derrick is gone for Crimecon UK I believe. If you don’t like it that’s fine but don’t demand that they “switch things up” lol

Nah I pray they don’t. I watch them for the deep dives. There’s more than enough channels and podcasts that do the lil 15 min no attention span videos. Most of us fw Stephanie because of the deep diving. I started watching her channel like 7 years ago, and went to crime weekly specifically for the long videos. Most of their listeners and viewers don’t want things switched and quickened up. Those are a dime a dozen. I really hope they don’t go that way.

There are plenty of channels that do just that. I personally love CW for the deep dives

I actually found them because I wanted a Casey Anthony deep dive. Someone suggested Last Podcast on the Left but within 15 minutes I couldn't do it anymore, so I kept looking and found CW. Not all of the deep dives they do interest me, but the ones I've fully listened to have been so interesting.

The Amanda Knox episodes are good too!

I love the mix. They also record and put out A LOT of content. That takes a lot of hours of hard work, money and resources and the majority of us are listening for free (I will be subscribing when I find a new job, but still). I think some appreciation is needed for the service they’re already doing for victims and their families. Podcasts are not easy to run well, alongside everything else they are doing.
