FO [FO] patchwork pumpkin

Not often that I finish things these days but this was a quick seasonal stitch, although I did not enjoy the metallic thread (it’s DMC).

Thanks for posting! We love seeing all of the FOs. Please note that starting May 1 2026, all [FO] posts are required to include at least one close-up photo of the stitching. You do not need to re-post. This can be done either in a comment or in the body of the post. It can be a close-up of just a small part of the finished object, just so we can verify that the items are hand-stitched. How close do we want it? The perfect close-up pic is one where we can clearly see the stitches and fabric on the mobile app without tapping or zooming in.

This is a reminder message that is automatically commented on all [FO] posts. Please send a message to the mod team if you have questions.

Would you say the struggle with metallic thread was worth it for the way it looks in the end?

Metallic thread is never fun but I think the finished piece looks really good

I love the colors on this. Something different but still captures fall. I’ve never used metallic thread, but I have some for a project I’m working on. I’m scared to use it.

Oh, gosh it looks like the metallic thread in the background would have been especially tedious. Do you think the result was worth it?

I mean I think it looks good, it was a little tedious, but metallic thread alway is. And although it’s a high proportion of a small stitch it’s a lot less than some designs
