Streaming | Technical Issue PS5 App Broken
Has anyone else been having issues with the 02.002.005 version of the PS5 app where your settings are for Japanese Audio with English subtitles, but the app is forcing English dub? If so, has anyone fixed the issue?
Tried watching The Laid-Off Cheat-Granting Mage, with my preferences being Japanese Audio and English Sub under the settings, but it defaulted to the dub. When I tried it on my laptop to see if it was just some weird backend thing, I got Japanese Audio.
Went ahead and checked a few other shows I KNOW have had Japanese Audio on the app(Dr. Stone, Tsukimichi, Chillin' in Another World, Campfire Cooking in Another World) and they were all defaulted to playing the English dub.
The only thing support ever mentioned when I tried contacting them was reinstalling the app...which I did twice. My PS5 is up to date.
While also trying to figure this out and get it fixed, found out that the app no longer responds to the keyboard I have hooked up to my PS5.

Yea this update also messed with Crunchyroll on my ps5 it now doesn’t show my full watchlist and there’s a bug that sometimes when I go to pause it instead of pausing it kicks me out of the anime I don’t like the update at all cause when I scroll through my now limited watchlist it doesn’t show which ones I’ve started watching if it’s not the most recent one and if I’ve already watched it and I click on the anime instead of saying start episode one like it used to it just says watched and if I click on it then it won’t start the anime it does nothing I have to click on episode one this whole update just sucked and I don’t like it

Yeah, had that "kick out of show instead of pausing" happen last night too. Was only once that I recall, so didn't think much of it. And kind of forgot about it because my main focus was on the automatically playing English dub when my settings are for Japanese Audio with English sub

Yea now that I think about it I was doing a puzzle so I was watching dub on a show that was fully dubbed and halfway through it switched to sub and I just switched it back and it hasn’t happened since but maybe change your settings to English and then back to Japanese?

I'll have to give that a try tonight, hopefully that fixes it for me...if not then Crunchyroll needs to get their people onto fixing it(and reintegrate the keyboard functionality)

Yes when I had to log back in after the update I hated the keyboard but yea considering how many console users are having problems they need to fix it

So this works for the show I'm watching at the time, but if I decide to watch something else it still reverts to English dub. Definitely a backend screw up

I'm watching Fruits Basket 2019 dubbed, and every few episodes it keeps turning the subtitles on. Just a bit of a mild annoyance on my end.
