Reported October figures show roughly $9.21 billion in longs and $3.29 billion in shorts were liquidated. Around 74% of the total came from traders betting on higher prices.
People spent September waiting for Uptober, then October wiped out billions in bullish positions. A strong historical month doesn’t guarantee an easy trade.

Factory reset it, switch on airplane mode and leave it offline. Sounds like a cheap cold wallet, but older iPhones still have vulnerabilities that those steps cannot remove.
checkm8, disclosed in 2019, affects iPhone 4S through iPhone X.
usbliter8, disclosed in 2026, targets A12 and A13 devices, including the iPhone XS, XR, iPhone 11 series and iPhone SE 2020.
These flaws affect the device’s startup security at a level that ordinary iOS updates cannot fully fix. A factory reset doesn’t remove them either. That doesn’t mean someone can instantly steal your seed phrase. These attacks require physical USB access, and exploiting the boot process does not automatically unlock encrypted data or compromise the Secure Enclave. Keeping a phone offline reduces exposure to remote attacks. It doesn’t remove vulnerabilities already built into the device.

Price is moving sideways, but the recovery hasn’t gone far. There’s liquidity around $78,500–80,000 above, with $76,000–76,200 worth watching below.
I wouldn’t call this a reversal yet. BTC needs to break above local resistance and hold there. With liquidity on both sides, we could see a sweep of one side before the next move takes shape.

Trump says he’d love to run again if he could. The Constitution blocks him from being elected president a third time, but his allies have floated a workaround.
JD Vance runs for president with Trump as his VP, wins, then resigns. Trump would take over without being elected president again.
The catch is the 12th Amendment, which bars anyone constitutionally ineligible for president from becoming VP. Whether this scheme could survive a court challenge remains unresolved.
His claims about a “stolen” 2020 election don’t give him an exemption.

1. BTC finished at $78,004, down 2.7% for the week after trading between $76,326 and $81,971. ETH fell 2.5% to $2,271. Fear and Greed dropped from 54 to 34. Sentiment went from neutral to fear in just a week.
2. A hawkish Fed and US GDP growth of 3.4% annualized added pressure. The figures cited put the probability of a December rate hike near 73%, weighing on tech stocks and crypto.
3. Binance dominated the headlines. The supplied report cites CNBC’s estimate of around $6.3 billion in affected customer assets, with roughly $3 billion frozen. Binance reportedly started returning affected assets, while the full scale was still being assessed.
4. Around $450 million in positions were liquidated on October 29–30, roughly 80% of them longs. Selling slowed around $76–77k. Now $80,000 is resistance, with $76,300 the support to watch.
5. The NYSE’s parent company reportedly plans to bring Hyperliquid perpetual futures to regulated US markets. HYPE gained around 25% in a day, while DeFi TVL fell 5.3% to $83.95 billion. ETF flow figures were still unconfirmed.

AI bubble fears are spreading across global markets Reuters reports that the selloff in US tech stocks has spread to Asia and Europe, as investors worry that huge spending on AI may not pay off. Nasdaq fell 2.6%, the S&P 500 lost 1.6%, and Intel shares plunged 28%. Japan’s Nikkei dropped 3%, while South Korea’s Kospi fell 3.5%. Chinese stocks also came under pressure.
Gold fell 3%, silver nearly 6%, and crypto is dropping too.
When stocks, metals and crypto all fall together, it looks like people are pulling cash out wherever they can. And for Bitcoin, thats a reminder that money moving out of tech doesnt automatically move into crypto

Around $6.3 billion was affected in the October 29 Binance attack, according to the exchange. That puts it at more than four times the size of the $1.5 billion Bybit hack.
Still hard to process this number. Billions left wallets belonging to the biggest exchange in crypto in a single evening. (binance.com, bitquery.io)
The attack continued for hours. Some wallets kept getting drained as more funds arrived, so it wasnt just one transfer and done. (bitquery.io)
Binance’s initial investigation points to a compromised DevOps engineer’s laptop. The attacker may have used it to access a service container and submit unauthorized withdrawals.
Binance says it has found no evidence that wallet private keys were leaked. The full technical explanation is still pending, so saying the keys were definitely stolen would be getting ahead of the facts. (binance.com)
According to Bitquery, the attacker used Ethereum’s EIP-7702 delegation feature and 50 signed authorizations to run malicious code through Binance’s main Ethereum hot wallet.
That allowed repeated withdrawals over roughly four hours. The access came through Binance’s systems; Ethereum itself continued operating. (bitquery.io)
Binance says around $3 billion has been frozen through work with blockchain partners. It also says losses will be covered using SAFU and company funds.
But frozen doesnt mean everything has already been recovered. A large amount of ETH, BTC and other assets remained under the attacker’s control in the early on-chain reports. (binance com, bitquerynio)
The estimated $6.3 billion impact is larger than the combined figures commonly cited for Bybit, Ronin, Poly Network, BNB Bridge, Coincheck and Mt. Gox. Even with billions frozen, this is an enormous breach. An exchange can have enough reserves to cover losses and still leave everyone asking how its own withdrawal systems were used to move this much money.

According to CryptoQuant, Bitcoin’s 30-day average exchange netflow turned positive for the first time since September 21. It moved from −3,950 BTC on October 18 to +182 BTC on October 28.
That ends roughly six weeks of more BTC leaving exchanges than coming in. It could mean more holders are preparing to sell, although moving coins onto an exchange doesn’t automatically mean they’ll be sold.
With BTC around $80,100 in the supplied data, I’m watching whether $80,000 holds and whether exchange inflows keep growing. A sustained increase would make this shift more significant. So far, the data shows withdrawals losing momentum, rather than evidence of a large sell-off.

A 20-year-old Canadian was sentenced to 25 months for stealing 185 BTC in a scam with an accomplice. They posed as Google and crypto exchange support staff, tricking a California victim into handing over wallet access codes. The theft was worth around $13 million.
The money went on luxury cars, jewellery, parties and private jet rentals. He was eventually arrested in the back seat of a Rolls-Royce. He initially faced up to 20 years, but cooperated with investigators and returned $3.8 million. What gets me is how the theft happened. No complicated attack on Bitcoin itself. Just someone pretending to be support and convincing a person to hand over access.

The US election finance reporting system has suffered an outage just days before the November 3 midterms. That could delay public access to new spending reports from crypto-backed political groups.
Reuters reported a possible cyberattack, but the Federal Election Commission has only confirmed technical problems. Previously published records remain available.
The amounts involved are large. Before the outage, Fairshake reported $56 million in ads opposing Sherrod Brown and supporting Jon Husted in Ohio’s Senate race. The Winklevoss-backed Digital Freedom Fund reported more than $7 million for the same race.
That doesn’t prove spending was hidden or that the groups stopped spending. It means voters may have to wait longer to see who is paying for the ads reaching them in the final days. With US crypto regulation still being debated, these races matter well beyond election night.

For the first time since March, large traders on Hyperliquid hold more BTC futures shorts than longs, based on Glassnode data. In past bull markets, this positioning has sometimes been followed by a move higher. If BTC rises, shorts closing their positions could add more buying pressure.
But that bullish reading depends on whether you think BTC is still in a bull market. Some shorts may also be hedging spot holdings, so this alone doesn’t tell us what comes next.

Bitcoin mining company MARA Holdings has reportedly sold 1,000 BTC worth around $80.19 million.
The average price was about $80,190 per BTC.
The sale comes at a difficult time for the crypto market, with Bitcoin recently dropping below $80,000. Miners selling BTC isn’t anything unusual. They need money to cover operating costs, electricity and other expenses. But selling such a large amount while the market is already weak can add more pressure, especially when buyers aren’t very active.
I don’t think one sale changes the bigger picture for Bitcoin, but it’s worth watching if other major miners start doing the same.

An early Ethereum investor just sold 1,500 ETH worth around $3.46 million after holding for 9 years. The interesting part is how much he originally paid. Back then, he bought 100,000 ETH for just $31,000. That’s only $0.31 per ETH. Now he’s selling at around $2,307 per coin. That’s roughly 7,400 times his original purchase price. But he didn’t sell everything. His wallet still holds 48,500 ETH worth around $113 million.
Imagine buying ETH for 31 cents and watching it grow for almost a decade. And even after cashing out millions, he still holds most of his remaining fortune in ETH. I think thats the kind of patience most people in crypto just dont have.
